Does anyone want to comment ?
I suppose the update experience is over now (?) and how have the majority of you come through it ? Unscathed, or with some sort of casualties ? I keep getting some SBHH problems, with trying to load some routes, but the Brighton route seems to work OK now, and I managed to get the Seaside scenario going well, and thought it would crash before it loaded properly, but a lot of my routes give trouble loading, I'm afraid.
And at least two routes don't seem to have ground or track textures showing - only the grid lines, and no ground colour. I'll probably have to re-install it all, although I just did this last week, but it's letting me be careful of re-installing some stuff I don't think seems to go as well as it should. I had problems getting the Heathrow Connect and Express 380 EMUs to install, so they showed up when I wanted to add them to a scenario - they showed in the fly-out list, but would not show up. I did what I should have (they came from the RW-Trainsim site, and did install on Windows XP previously, but now I seem to have probs. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong ? Got anything to relate, or are you still safe ?

Jim,
All i would suggest is that you reverify local files via steam, its possible some stuff didnt download properly. Also check your graphics settings, the update may of set them higher than you previously run them. Which routes are missing textures?

Not to worry, as I'm downloading TS2012 again from Steam, as we talk. There were at least 2 routes, including the one with the Victorian Railways F class diesel shunter, similar to the 08 Class, and one other, I forget, but so many of them gave me an SBHH message on trying to start them, so I decided it's best to re-download it all from scratch again, with a clean slate, and I'm sure nothing else will go wrong from there. Don't fret, mate. Things will be easier, and things like the Brighton route will again be marvellous once more. Trust me, and it's sorta "fun" choosing stuff to reload, and taking more care what you select, than you had previously, I guess. Cheers, and ta for the suggestions.

Entirely unscathed. I didn't do anything daft like trying to launch last night halfway through the change; I had a night off from RW, connected this morning, downloaded in the background while I did other stuff, started the game and tried Flying Scotsman free roam at Paddington. No problems, difficult to compare but I'd say the route loaded fater than previously and I *think* I detect a very minor improvement in frame rate but hard to be sure.ka959 wrote:<snip> Unscathed, or with some sort of casualties ? <snip>
I saw a reference on another forum to a 'cheese and whine party', still giggling about that one. It seems that if you're determined your glass will be half-empty, that is indeed the way it will turn out.

Just run Paddington-Oxford, the dawn sky colours are amazing. Cajon pass has gone AWOL but validating now.

Better than unscathed.
Loading performance seems to be better, and making an extra backup made for a good excuse to do some cleaning out of old files!

Re: Does anyone want to comment ?
Performance up slightly, New skydomes in Ox Pad are very welcome and I will add them into my routes.
Other than that I'm not really sure what's been done - I'm thinking it may be partly a preparatory exercise for future developments.
Aside from the blind panic of a 2 stage upgrade process (some warning would have been nice) it seems to be business as usual.

Re: Does anyone want to comment ?
Prior to this update, the Northeast Corridor would not load properly on either my laptop or desktop. Now it loads fine on both. I've had no troubles with any other routes.
However, after this update, every time I start TS2012, (on either my desktop or laptop) it reinstalls MS .NET 4. Anyone else have this problem?

Delete the .NET installer from /Steam/steamapps/common/railworks/install/ to stop that being an issue.mikeadams2k wrote:However, after this update, every time I start TS2012, (on either my desktop or laptop) it reinstalls MS .NET 4. Anyone else have this problem?

Cajon Pass is called "Barstow to San Bernadino" in my RW setup. Is that there?freonwarrior wrote:Confirm, Cajon has gone!

Re: Does anyone want to comment ?
Correct, it's been called Barstow to San Bernadino in the route menue ever since the release of RW. I don't know whether it was called "Cajon Pass" in RSDL days, as I didn't have Rail Simulator.jevon wrote:Cajon Pass is called "Barstow to San Bernadino" in my RW setup. Only just finished my 4th validating of the steam cache files and am now backing up the total download before anything gets corrupted. Hope to run the game later and will then comment on what I find!
