Lickey Incline - Bromsgrove Burton Route

Post by jetgriff »

I finished the Lickey Incline bit of the route, so along with the Nuneaton- Tamworth and Coleshill and Water Orton give it a go if you want, I find though that the steam engines do not have the power of their prototypes, I used to be a fireman on this route in the 1950's / 60's and believe me we could get more speed out of the 5's Jubilee's etc up the incline.

Hi

Just tried out the Lickey incline (had to sort out the consist first - in 2 bits and on some points causing a derailment) and managed a steady 22mph.

When done this route will fill a large hole in the UK coverage by RW and from what I have seen this is going to be up there with your other routes.

Thanks for this early look at it.

Chris which points are causing trouble?? Are you getting the Blue map loading screen and 'jump to' points?

Just found the derail... its on the Class 47 hoppers on the Lickey, the rear points are against it... will move the train back towards Stoke Jct and look at it.

Yes I modified the original scenario and that scenario will always follow its original path reguardless.. through the slow line.. have to sack the controller....

Looking Great so far, I too moved the consist back down the Line to avoid the junction changing under the train, Think i managed 23mph up the incline!
I also like the look of the rest of the line Nuneaton's looking about right i think, Though I've not been there for a long time!

Just done the download, go to go and collect Grandson from Nursery, so won`t be able to install for a couple of hours. Will pop over on the train though - live in Longbridge and the Nursery is in Kings Norton so will check out when I get back !!!! - Is it set in the 50s/60s or current day ????.

Had a nice run up the Bank - with the 47 and hoppers, also noticed that on the scenario list, others areas are modelled, so popped over to Water Orton and had a quick run, but, interestingly they don`t show on the key9 map (2D). As said, live close to Longbridge, so any info you may need, will only be too pleased to help. You say you worked the route in the 50s/60s, quite a few changes taken place, the main one being the connection into the Rover Works now totally gone.
