Just going back to this, can anybody else see any AWS ramps in any of the screens posted thus far? I'm thinking he may have got confused by the point motors in the Bankside Power Station shotjivebunny wrote:Anyway, back on topic.... (Edit: whoops, not aimed at you gypbrc!)
I'm pretty certain that assumption can be quietly put to bed, for three reasons:AndyM77 wrote:If it's the "Same" Alan Thomson then i'd take his word for it. HUGE ASSUMPTION Alan Thomson on Facebook = Alan Thomson of http://www.thomsoninteractive.com/
- "Aws ramps in pic so modern" again doesn't look like someone with a commercial image to look after.

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
I'm happy with this news but if I'm honest I think I would have prefered to have Portsmouth Direct extended to Waterloo, however good news all the same and I will purchase.
I would also be interested in knowing who is building this route - The scenery in the Battersea shots show some depth - I'm guessing that this would be one of the most heavy area's for frame rates - Thomson have previously left the more heavy areas bare so frame rates are better, but on the other hand RSC with their own in-house routes have normally supplied more than one item of stock but this route is only having a 377 supplied. Of course it can be supplied in both Southern and FCC colours so Thameslink services are covered.
Looking at the screenies on Facebook the locations are instantly recognisable to me however the shocking thing for me is that having travelled on this line sooooo many times and I never new there was a swimming pool right next to the line between Streatham & Balham (Tooting Lido apparantly).
If RSC are reading then may-be a good time for a 442 stock pack seeing as there are now going to be 2 TS routes for them to be used on - could be a good money earner.
With regards to Era I would have prefered the BR blue era (born in '73) but that doesn't really concern me with this route - I think there would be better routes for steam seeing as the Brighton line was electrified in the '30s.
Good news.
Steve
Edit to the above post - no AWS ramps but then I can't see any signals or speed limit signs either. All in good time I guess.

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
More DLC when there are other problems to fix including a Scenario on the Woodhead Route and the Route and Scenario Editor problems.
Sorry but this is my take on it all.
Kind regards James.

Yes, they have become quite the multi-tasking specialists to be doing all of these things at once - somebody must have splashed out on premium quality Hob NobsRetro wrote:More DLC when there are other problems to fix including a Scenario on the Woodhead Route and the Route and Scenario Editor problems.

Multi-tasking is all very well but unless I am mistaken the Class 86 Run Down Notch has still not been fixed on the WCML Model.FoggyMorning wrote:Yes, they have become quite the multi-tasking specialists to be doing all of these things at once - somebody must have splashed out on premium quality Hob NobsRetro wrote:More DLC when there are other problems to fix including a Scenario on the Woodhead Route and the Route and Scenario Editor problems.

There is a "fix" for the run down notch here http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... x%E2%80%A6Retro wrote:Multi-tasking is all very well but unless I am mistaken the Class 86 Run Down Notch has still not been fixed on the WCML Model.FoggyMorning wrote:Yes, they have become quite the multi-tasking specialists to be doing all of these things at once - somebody must have splashed out on premium quality Hob NobsRetro wrote:More DLC when there are other problems to fix including a Scenario on the Woodhead Route and the Route and Scenario Editor problems.

It is present on the default model at ~3% throttle, I think the mod above moves it to nearer 30%

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
I understand this Steve but why should we have to fix it ourselves. Apparently some people are having Scenario's fail due to modifying Files because of the new security levels set in either the TS-2012 release or the latest Update. It was being discussed on another Topic just recently. I am quite happy to see new stuff but only if problems are promptly fixed. Sorry to go off Topic I will get my Coat.

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
Well, I don't think RS.com have ever indicated that there is anything that needs fixing on the 86? Just some on this forum wanted to move the position of the run down notch, unless I am missing something (just for a change
)
There has always been protection in place to prevent modified locos being used in Career System scenarios, to prevent people cheating and racking up otherwise impossible scores

Career Mode only as far as I know.Retro wrote:I understand this Steve but why should we have to fix it ourselves. I 100% agree with you that RSC should at least make an effort to fix the easiest problems. Class 86 notch-down, Class 450 and Class 166 comes to mind. At the end of the day, most of us (myself included) are still buying buying their stuff due to their monopoly position in the trainsim market and that doesn't give RSC much incentive. They have lost my business in buying products at full price nonetheless.
I'd be interested in how extensive RSC will go to in terms of branch lines. Caterham? Tattenham Cnr? Horsham? E.Grinstead? Might be the deciding factor for me in RSC vs TAD...

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
The Route that is taking my interest at the moment is Just Trains ECML as I use to travel a lot on that line up to Montrose. I am afraid I know little about the Routes based down South. The Bristol to Exeter is the only one I have in this area of the country.

Don't give a monkey's what era it is.
If it's modern i'll make a few 'come back tour' scenarios with fav steam / diesel.
As long as it works, looks good i'm happy!

I do too, I suspect there are more of us in the closet!!I fall into the BR blue/classic diesel & leccy camp but we seem to actually be quite a minority.
Personally, I enjoy driving anything, including modern plastic stuff, as I like variety!!
