Win 7 64bit, Paint Shop Pro 9 and .dds files...

Post by philspace »

Evening all,

I appreciate this is the Open Forum, but this is one of those questions which doesn't have a natural home.

I'm trying to install the .dds plug-in into Paint Shop Pro 9 in a Windows7, 64 bit environment so that I can edit Railworks textures, but each time I think I'm getting somewhere, PSP 9 proclaims that the .dds extension is not supported.

The web is full of conflicting suggestions ranging from "can't be done..." to "it's simple - you just do this..."!

I've installed Plugin Commander and extra .dll files, but with no success.

My question is this: Has anyone succeeded in getting PSP 9 to recognise .dds files in a Windows7, 64bit environment, or am I banging my head against an insurmountable wall?

Best wishes

Phil

Try Paint.NET, a freeware graphic art program that can import DDS and export it. I've not tested it in this mode. Paint.NET has many great feature, but lacks spraycan/airbrush.
