Been toying with the idea of swapping track for some time, and as its been constantly raining , i thought i would give it a go.
I followed mikesimpsons guide ( to the letter ) and hey presto ...E and G track on the PDL .........
I liked it so much , i changed the ox-padd as well ..........

It wasnt all plain sailing though....I did make a basic error to begin with when filling in the search & replace boxes......
I typed THOMPSON instead of THOMSON....

Cheers
Brian

btw ...its just stopped raining ......off to the pub for the footy

hi, anyone else have problems with the class 450 using F4 mode, if i released the throttle lever at certain points the throttle would go automatically to full throttle or emergency brakes.

i have played around with it a bit and found that if i release the throttle at 0% or 60% it auto jumps to full throttle, if i leave go at -36% or -63% it auto jumps to emergency braking.

this has caused me so much frustration that i decided the train was unplayable so i have been messing around with the engine simulation file and have sussed how to fix this problem, in the notch section of the file i have chanded settings from/to 0.6/0.601, 0/-0.001, -0.36/-0.361 and -0.63/-0.631.

if anyone else is having this problem i hope this helps, i would upload this change to the file library but am worried that this may be illegal as it is an add on file

now i remember having problems with other dual control levers will be looking to fix them in this way also

cheers

It's not illegal; however really fixing them is a bit more complicated ( especially ones that really have notches on one half of the travel only ), you need to redefine the control as a multi-ref, which I've found has a lot less issues with F4. I think the default is a combination lever? I started modifying mine last year, I have no idea what the original looks like anymore...
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

been sussing out which trains have this problem and have found the 450. 86 and the 166. as said 450 is repaired, 86 was easy enough only had problem with the 60% notch, the 166 was in a very bad way almost every notch was giving me this problem but sussed that, i have also and mapped the notches to the throttle in game, also sussed how to adjust the power so idle is at 0% instead of -10 and braking working correctly with 4 notches. 166 is a much better drive now!

Problem is i have now realised that these changes will no doubt be overwriten with any update, so not sure if it is worth uploading also any reskins will have been aliased to the original files so only default stock would be fixed!

cheers

Gav

P.S. sorry dont have the 377 mate but i guess its best to be fixed before all the reskins start circulating!
