Re: Portsmouth Direct Line: upgraded for TS2012 from 26 April
I have intrest in the VEP as a Slammer fan boy, just won't be buying it on release day unless i can justify the cash i will spend on it (its a day out on a Stageocah Day-Rider gold ticket & proberbly some bits to eat). I am not sure where the the sense is in releasing the VEP & the P-Direct update together, you can use ts2012 ready rolling stock all that may be different is the sky dome (thats instantly noticeable).
Kind Regards,

My guess is that the upgrade to the route has been delayed because the testing is taking longer that expected (hence 'The update to PDL is currently in testing'), and the 4VEP scenarios have only been tested with the new version of the route, so they can't release the 4VEP until the route is ready.Slammer423 wrote:I am not sure where the the sense is in releasing the VEP & the P-Direct update together, you can use ts2012 ready rolling stock all that may be different is the sky dome (thats instantly noticeable).
Strange they haven't at least announced the delay on Facebook.

Does anyone know for sure if this will include a fix for the 450?
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...
Re: Portsmouth Direct Line: upgraded for TS2012 from 26 April
With the WCML-N, the Class 86 only got rain effects and lights, but the notchdown bug and bad physics remain. So I wouldn't hold my breath.

Indeed. I could never understand this stance as proper physics are so much more important to some flash gfx effectsUSRailFan wrote:With the WCML-N, the Class 86 only got rain effects and lights, but the notchdown bug and bad physics remain. So I wouldn't hold my breath.

It seems their Facebook page is only for cover image bragging these days...nigeltouatievans wrote:Strange they haven't at least announced the delay on Facebook.

So there will be a version with the 4VEP and a version with the 450? The 450 isn't available separately though; I wonder if the 4VEP will be?

The 4VEP will be a separate item of DLC AFAIK; it is just being held back until the update to the route is ready (or vice versa
)
Re: Portsmouth Direct Line: upgraded for TS2012 from 26 April
Indeed, the 4VEP is likely to come with PDL scenarios, so it makes sense to hold release.

They've just announced on Facebook the delay, but also that the 4CIG is also going to get a TS2012 update when the update does happen. Nothing about how long the delay is likely to be.

Re: Portsmouth Direct Line: upgraded for TS2012 from 26 April
PORTSMOUTH DIRECT LINE UPGRADE NEWSFLASH: we will now be upgrading the 4CIG Add-On along with the PDL. This means ALL DLC available with scenarios on the PDL (4VEP, 4CIG, Class 455, Class 444 and Class 33) will be upgraded to TS2012 standards, along with the route. This will involve additional development and testing time, so we will not be bringing you the PDL upgrade this week as planned. However, we hope all PDL (and 4CIG) owners will be very pleased with the result! The upgrades are free to current owners of the DLC.
RSC? Late?

A delay maybe but a good idea, I think it is.

At least we got 4CIG updated, hence why they said more testing time! Its better then late they say.thetrainfan wrote:PORTSMOUTH DIRECT LINE UPGRADE NEWSFLASH: we will now be upgrading the 4CIG Add-On along with the PDL. I wonder if they are adding scenery to some of the branches on the line? Or perhaps superelevation? (the curves are already laid with easements)
All told, 'TS2012ifying' a route isn't that hard otherwise. Most of the lights are already there, and adding the sky dome is a 15 minute job. Still, I thank RSC for taking time out to do this
