I'm having the same trouble, with various routes, but I'm having an added problem in that the game displays the point box (F8), and it's arrows, but doesn't show the arrows changing, although it does change the direction of the points.

I've tried reading these posts, but they are had to understand. What is train store?

Hi,

Train store is a small program that stores unused eng and wag, this allows MSTS to work better, also after you have a certain amount of stock, MSTS comes up with all sorts of problems when loading a route, train store over comes these problems.

Also by running a activity either by classic or in easy mode, the activity loads much quicker,as MSTS only looks for and loads the stock required for the activity.

You can down load it for free on the msts quick picks on the front page.

Hi Newcastleflyer,
Very sorry I forgot your name.
Could it be the Driver aids you are using? I do not remember default F8 icons moving although they might have done.

I use these Aids:-
Click to view more informationNew semi-transparent driving aids [288004 bytes] - guimod11.zip
File ID: 15744 Date: 24 Dec 2006 - 1840 Downloads

The direction of travel changes in the F5 monitor RPs and Point Arrows are beside the track And the points in the F8 box show forward and reverse in relation to the train. Also the setting of the points can be changed by clicking on the point icon in the box.

A great improvement on the Default anyhow..
Read the readme concerning the Bin Patch. The Aids must be installed after the Patch.

If you go Train Store. The readme is in the J.A.Formoso folder (trainstore.pdf)
Important point any new installs or work on MSTS must be carried out with 'Everything Unstored' in train Store, there is a button for it one click.

Hope this is of some help
Good luck
Doug

I've had the transparent driving aids for ages, and the F8 point arrows not moving only seem to be in the NSW Short South & Short West route.

Its NOT the Short West + Short South route - I have the same transparent driving aids, and when I run SW+SS the points indicator changes OK for me.
