I am sure that we would like to help you get it up and running. Do you have WCML thats quite processor intesive is that working ok?
mijemcc wrote:Love to join you guys running this route. Despite verifying my local files on three occasions and clearing the cache this route still stops loading at the 3 to 4 mins stage. If left I eventually get a black screen and can only get out by using Cont Alt Delete. Tried altering settings etc. to no avail. Given up for now. I am not one for altering files etc. WCML runs fine on my machine by the way. You win some and lose some.

WCML runs reasonably on my machine. Just had a thought. I bought the route through GetGames, though the download came via Steam. I might try removing the route and trying a fresh download, (As a last resort).
Not really that bothered, though. I have high blood pressure these days so if I get frustrated with things I tend to walk away. Don`t fancy a stroke. I am of the type that uses a computer as a tool, I.E. Switch on, press the button and it should go. I cannot imagine having a car that won`t go on the keypress but needs you to open the bonnet and faff about just to make it start!. Thanks for your kind offer but I think I will pass if you don`t mind. I will just use the routes that work for me. Not buying anymore DLC after this, though never say never.

Shameless plug there young Bob, but, why not.......

Actually, I have noticed that a few recent RSC content manuals, not WCML, don't have any acknowledgements/credits listed anymore, unsure why, it would be nice to appreciate those other folks who've been involved with getting a route, locomotive, whatever, created and released to the masses, hopefully, RSC will remedy this oversight in future.

I did the same Michael, through getgamesgo (nice price that was this last weekend :) ) and activated through Steam. Had no problems at all; Woodhead runs fine and oh btw I agree, what a wonderful route this is with so much athmosphere.
Did you verify cache through Steam? You must be missing something in your download, I think. Otherwise I would perhaps contact getgames.

I verified the game cache on three occasions. I also re-booted and then cleared the cache each time.
I then went offline and deleted the game, went back online an verified a fourth time. The game downloaded again. Still no go. I tried this three times.
I finally had a go with RW Tools, (Still feeling my way with this) and it threw up a missing asset:-
C;\program files\steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\Woodhead\scenery\rock\rock_tun_ent01.bin
What point is there in a verifier that does not find missing files? That one puzzles me.
On asking a friend who can run the route, he checked his assets and did not find this file on his machine.
When I get over the frustration I may contact Railworks as I love Derek Siddle creations.

I asked a friend to check his Woodhead route with RW_Tools (v.3066). He came up with the following missing assets:

Code: Select all

Despite this he has no problems running the route.

When RSC get it right, then we should spend the time to celebrate.
As things stand, a goods train is routed where fallacies follow. I severely doubt it was thoroughly tested end to end to the extent that was required, and I would argue why we should not take the role.
The value of your investments may go up as well as down.

One of the things I picked up in the GetGamesGo sale was the Woodhead Line and I must say I've had a lot of fun driving trains on this one. It looks very nice and the combination of changing gradients and changing speed limits means you have to stay alert or things will go wrong. The class 76/77 is nice to drive. It's similar to older electric rolling stock in the Netherlands so it feels right at home.

You will find that some people actually don't want to be credited, for whatever reason.
