Two SCP queries
Dear all,
Firstly: When I go into the activity editor, before the route is displayed and when altering consists the following message appears "Error reading train database file FIle: Trains\Consists\SC P#_46232_LE.con."
Any others come across this problem - haven't as yet come across the activity in which it is needed. Would deleting from activity remove it.
Secondly: Is there a map to go with the route? I am lost not knowing where I am going.
Any information much appreciated.
Thank you
Hywel

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi Hywel,
I can't help you with the former because I don't have the route..... yet!
The latter however, there is a rough route map here: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5#p1526929

Re: Two SCP queries
I also have this error message, there is no consist file called SCP#_46232_LE.con. nor is there an engine numbered 46232, I have created a consist called SCP#_46232_LE, but used engine number 46235 instead, that has fixed it.
Regards
Mark.

Dear Colin and Mark,
Than you for putting on the right track regarding the map (now printed) and how to correct the consist error.

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi Gentlemen,
NOTE: My installation doesn't have a space between 'SC' and 'P' as shown in the quote.
There are two suitable consists supplied - SCP#_46227_LE and SCP#_46247_LE
As a side-note, locos 46227, 46235, 46239, 46244 and 46247 all have their rear coupling 'CouplingUniqueType ( BATS_BR_7P_46232 )' but the front coupling on the matching tenders have 'CouplingUniqueType ( BATS_BR_7P_46250 )' which makes one wonder if that parameter serves any purpose
To locate where 46232 was used, I used Windows Grep which finds strings within files - it's been useful in a number of cases! It's free, and can be obtained here : http://www.wingrep.com/
Cheers,
Ged
This consist is called by Service file scp#_polmadiecoaling2shed_le, which, in turn, is used in two activities : scp_pm_glasgow_central_shunt and scp_pm_shunting_at_polmadieHywel Dewi Jones wrote: "Error reading train database file FIle: Trains\Consists\SC P#_46232_LE.con."

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi there
These 2 activities are mine and the service SCP#_polmadiecoaling2shed_le should use the consist scp#_46247_le.
This is as it was during final testing.
If anyone is having difficulty in altering the files then send me a pm and I will email the correct service to you.
All you need to do then is to copy the service into the service folder of your miniroute overwriting the original.
Sorry about this, no idea how it has got into the released version.
Thanks.
Peter

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi Peter
Thanks for the info.
I have now updated the consist to use 46247 instead of 46235, so even though the acts are calling for SCP#_46232_LE.con they will still run as intended with the correct loco, it was easier to do that than edit the activities.

Re: Two SCP queries
For those who feel they can edit the necessary file then please follow these instructions.
• Using Windows Explorer, find the mini route folder for Scottish Central Plus.
• Open this folder and then navigate to the services folder (inside the route folder).
• Find the file scp#_polmadiecoaling2shed_le
• Open this file using notepad or wordpad.
• You should have the following:
SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0v0t______
Service_Definition (
Serial ( 3 )
Name ( SCP#_PolmadieCoaling2Shed_LE )
Train_Config ( SCP#_46232_LE )
PathID ( SCP#_PolmadieCoaling2Shed_LE )
MaxWheelAcceleration ( 0 )
Efficiency ( 0.75 )
TimeTable (
StartingSpeed ( 0 )
EndingSpeed ( 0 )
StartInWorld ( 0 )
EndInWorld ( 0 )
)
)
• The line in red above is the one to alter (yours will be in black). You need to change the number 46232 to 46247. Save the file and all is done.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi Peter, just a note to say I've checked the service that Ged has posted and it is exactly what
you say it should be and therefore it doesn't need changing.

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi Bob
Most strange.
It appears some are correct and some are wrong.
Not got my official copy yet so when it arrives will check to see what it shows.
Thanks.

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi There,
It is not advisable to alter the coupling parameters on the Coronations unless you know what you are doing.
The engfile was prepared by Rick Gibb and very well balanced as it should be, it is the same, I believe as used by BA when they were in existance and I feel I am privelaged to have be able to have used it with these models.

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi Peter,
I'm afraid it's apology time again
I misread the service file name - it is the scp#_polmardiecoaling2shed.srv file which has the 46232 consist. There are 5 service files which show polmardie instead of polmadie.
However, this doesn't explain why Hywel got the error message, unless he picked up the 'polmardie' file by mistake while he was using AE.
From this, I'm sure there is only one version of the DVD in circulation
Again, I'm sorry for the 'duff gen'.
Cheers,
Ged

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi There,
The error will only show if you Unstore all as the duff service file in question is not used in any activity and possibly appears to be an old test service which has managed to find its way onto the finished route DVD.

Re: Two SCP queries
Hi Everyone, just changed the loco in the SCP#_Polmardiecoaling2shed service to 46247 so that it
will not show up as an error in the future.
