JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
Have just installed the new Just Trains SECML
Unable to get it to run and getting the following messages
1 Error - Not a serialized binary file
File : D :\build\ Core release\ Code\ Libs\Foundation\API\Core/cException.h
LINE : 113
2 The instruction at " 0x015ce932" referenced memory at "0x00000000"
The memory could not be "written"
Click on OK to terminate the program
Can anyone please tell me the problem and what I need to do to solve this.
Barrie

Re: JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
Hi
Have you deleted the Blueprint cache and as usual with a problem like this, have you verified the game cache with Steam
Check here for some advice -

Hi
Have deleted the Blueprint cache and have verified the game cache but
still get the same error messages.
This happens within a couple of seconds of clicking on a scenario in this route.
Other routes are working OK

Re: JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
That would seem to indicate that an asset or part of the route is corrupt. Please uninstall the route and then re-install. Might also be worth re-downloading the route to make sure you do not have a bad download.

Hiya!
May I suggest that you clear Railworks of all .pak and Zero byte files.
Tony.

Hi Tony,
Please forgive me for being thick, but how do I do that?

Re: JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
You aint thick at all Barrie, not everyone can know everything !
I find the best way is to clear .pak and Zero byte is to go this way. Please be aware that this path will not be TYPED correctly ( I just click through the progressive windows)
c:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\common\Railworks.
Once at the Railworks window, in the top right hand corner is a search box. Simply type .pak wait for the search to finish and delete all that you find. Next enter 0 byte and search again, deleting all you find.
Hope this helps.

Re: JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
To be fair, the OP has already cleared the Blueprint Cache. Finding and deleting .pak files is much the same.

Re: JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
Hi Tony,
Have done that found 7 blueprint files which I deleted,
There were no 0 byte files found.
But still got the same problem.

Re: JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
The
part of the error message you're getting would indicate a problem with a .bin/.xml file---to try and narrow the cause down to route or scenarios, can you get into the route through 'Editor'?Not a serialized binary file

Re: JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
Sorry to hear it did not work. That method usually sorts things for me.
But, now that people that are far more in the know than me are here , I am sure you will soon get it sorted.
Regards.

Re: JT Scottish East Coast Mainline
Hi
I think I am able to get into the route through Editor, but not being technically minded and always wary of doing more damage
I have never attempted anything like that. I don't even do anything with RW Tools because of this.
When I load RW the route is there as are all the scenarios
Barrie
Follow up :
The "Open Route Folder" is blacked out.
If I attempt to open "Edit Route" I immediately hear the ping and get the same 2 error messages.
