You would think though, that Steam's systems would be good enough to ensure that a product doesn't get the TS2012 'swoosh' added to it before the updated files are actually in place? As it is now they're threading in a rather grey area wrt false marketing...

You're right, pure speculation on my part tbh I don't know anything to be honest and nor does anyone else on the forum, something probably got messed up and they thought it had gone live to current customers? Maybe we'll know more in the afternoon GMT? I could force a cache verification, but with all those 3rd party additions...

SECML is coming down the line faster than a Haggis on whiskey and speed though, so at least some will have some will get to cross the impressive looking bridge soon.

Do you know that's actually the case?

Could it be that new purchases are getting the TS2012 updated version and that the patch is just taking time to roll out?

Given how Steam works, it is highly unlikely that they are able to host two different versions at the same time.

Blimey it's only 3 am in Valve's offices.

Well it certainly appears that the new version will be the one downloaded if purchased. It's a little odd that the update hasn't gone live yet though. I can't remember how the update for GARL coincided with the new version being available for new customers.

There was no issue with GARL as I recall and it seems like this is the only one where something like this has happened.
Sort of annoying to see people on the facebook page just blaming RSC for this left, right and centre because this looks like a steam issue to me.

As RS.com has been advertising this rather heavily prior to yesterday, you'd think they'd have at least the courtesy to give Steam a call-up and tell them to get their act together + post an apology to the customers about the delay. In stead they have gone totally silent. So no wonder really, that people are having a go at them.

They've posted on the FB page. It's delayed until tonight due to technical difficulties.

Two new scenarios? excellent. I can wait, as can everyone else - why the rush?
