North Lindsey Light Railway
Is anyone aware of this free route? It is based around Humberside and has some Hull & Barnsley elements. I stumbled upon it by chance.

Gosh I have to say that I'm really surprised that there have been no posts on this thread.
Thank you John for bringing this delightful route to our attention. It's certainly one that I'd not stumbled upon until now, and flagging it up here in the forums is an excellent idea. A great deal of hard work has obviously been put into this route, and the result is charming and atmospheric. It's certainly one that I will run regularly, and I'd recommend that folks give it a try
Cheers
Norm

Re: North Lindsey Light Railway
Just downloaded this route and wow - it's superb!
There are plenty of scenarios supplied, although the stock used isn't prototypical, but nevertheless they are well put together with a lot of AI. The location is way off my stomping ground, so would anyone know what stock that's currently available would be prototypical?
Well done indeed to the team who put this together - I can see me running this all day...

Re: North Lindsey Light Railway
Ash and Norm,
I have done a little research and it was a Great Central line which was absorbed into the LNER. The only GCR locomotives available right now are a D11 and an O4 that are freeware from UKTS, and they are both in BR livery. I suppse in BR days anything went, Ivatt 2MTT's to 9F's. Open up the links for a GCR Society article on the NLLR, a potted history and some modern day pics of the route.

Re: North Lindsey Light Railway
Hi John,
Thanks for the links, they are most interesting.
Many years ago (when the world was in black & white... well, corporate blue-and-grey anyway!) I traveled regularly by train to Grimsby from South Wales, decamping from the usual HST at Sheffield and hopping onto a little class 142 for the run to Grimsby via Scunthorpe. Good times. I remain extremely fond of both Grimsby and Pacer units as a result, and it's a real treat to recreate at least part of those journeys in RW now, thanks to this delightful route
Cheers

Re: North Lindsey Light Railway
I couldn't agree more, substitited the Default 7F's and some of the Black 5's used in the many Scenarios that come with this beautiful Route, for GC ROD's, WD Austerity's, V2's, etc. (also swopped the Default Mk1's for DT ones
) and really enjoying driving this little Gem. Highly recommend that you have a look at it, shame it is not in the UKTS Library.
