AH......at last..... a Thumper!!!!!
Hello Barry.
Congratulations on such an outstanding model, as you will guess the Hampshire Demus are close to my heart, My home was originally at Romsey so I literly grew up to the sound of the 4SKRT, then in the first 21 years as a guard, then based at
Eastleigh I had numerous turns on them until they migrated to the southEast, I certainly worked 1111 before it was converted.
There are a couple of slight problems with the model, it comes with a missing texture file which is the 3H_Trailer_Body inside Ace, I have borrowed one from another DEMU. The other problem is that 205205 does not like curves or trailing/facing
crossovers, both coaches bounce and collide with each other, then the unit rocks back and forth. I guess this is what is known as bounding boxes rather beyond me.
In your notes, you mention the now scrapped centre trailer car 60660, The very last time I worked on a Demu I had to conduct a strawberry Hill Trainman from Bouremouth to Weymouth Quay, 60660 was marshalled between 60145 (205027) and 60149 (205031), this would have been around 1996 just after I transferred to Bournemouth following redundentcy.
Looking forward to further Demus.
Best wishes.
Andy.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the bounce I will have a look at that now.

205205 is in quite good condition atm just having bodywork sorted and we are trying to trace the train wire fault which causes it to trip out on notch 2.
It might be the old problem of dodgy 50 year old wiring, coupled with 4 notch conversion and lack of care whilst up North.

Hi Andy.

To (hopefully) cure the coaches bouncing and colliding off each other, open the ENG and WAG files and look for this section normally in the top sections of both ENG's and WAG's.

Coupling (
Type ( Automatic )
Spring (
Stiffness ( 2e6N/m 0 )
Damping ( 6e9N/m/s 6e9N/m/s )
Break ( 5.1e7N 5.1e7N )
r0 ( 10cm 1e9 )
)
Velocity ( 0.1m/s )
)
Buffers (
Spring (
Stiffness ( 1e7N/m 0 )
Damping ( 1e6N/m/s 0 )
r0 ( 0m 1e9 )
)
CouplingHasRigidConnection ( 1 )
Centre ( 0.5 )
Radius ( 0.98 )
Angle ( 0.5deg )
)

If the RED line is missing, add it as shown, and it should hopefully cure the problem.
It is sometimes there but commented out, if so it will look something like:

Comment( CouplingHasRigidConnection () )

If so, amend so it looks like my red section above and it should all be fine and dandy. :)
The same line will need to be amended/added to ALL coaches and engines for it to work properly.

Also a possible patch for the author. :wink:
Kindest regards,
Simon.

Hello again Simon.
Many thanks for your help and yes the "Coupling has rigid connection" was missing as was the "velocity 0.1ms,"
what ever all that means :o
Anyway I altered each of the lines and coupled with the making tracks DEMU sound and 41/75 cabview which is authentic to that particular DEMU following modification.
Yes I have a very nice Hampshire unit and look forward to some more.

Once again many thanks for your help Simon.

Hi Andy

I'm glad its all ok now and will be releasing other versions soon.
I have found that the best cabview for this unit is the EB 421 Cig so if you have that piece of payware then that is the one I recommend,
seeing that I have spent so many hours working on the actual unit at Ongar and now North Weald :o
Hopefully the old girl will be sorted prior to the EORailway re-opening but hunting wiring faults aint fun.
