Problems w/Phorum Peninsula 2'3'' Stock

Post by BenBlairL »

I'm working on making a small Narrow Guage route, but when placing test stock I can't seem to select the Phorum Peninsula 2'3'' Cars (They won't highlight yellow) and I can't select the locos when driving (They will select and I can add tasks and stuff but I can't click them in a free roam)

Anyone having issues? Any idea how to fix this?

Hi

TS2012 caused a few problems with loco's made by Kevin Martin in that there were no longer selectable. Kevin describes it as a problem with the the third LOD (I think) and he has said that he will try to correct this in due course. It is possible that you could place the loco's in new scenarios and make them the player locos so that when the scenario starts they are already selected but that needs some experimentation.

This might help a bit -

I'm afraid all my NG stock supplied with the Phorum Peninsula addon does have this problem.

I did offer a fix for these models to RSC a few months ago, but I'm afraid I never heard anything in reply.

Cheers,

Kevin

Hi Kevin

Are you able to fix this fairly easily.

If so then I think we can make a number of requests to RS,com to take up your offer, particularly as this is a Charity Route and it does spoil the enjoyment of the route. It all worked fine before TS2102 so it should work OK afterwards as well.

This is a bit of a blow TBH, having just cut the first turf as it were on a rather interesting Eastern Europe "Waldbahn", there seems little point in pursuing it if just about the only ng locos and stock we have in RW can't be placed or selected to make scenarios, etc. In fact pretty much kills the project stone dead.

Any chance you can email RSC again Kevin, or if RSDerek sees this perhaps he could elevate the issue at RSC Towers? One of the attractions of Phorum Peninsula is the included ng stuff with additional routes having the potential to boost sales and therefore the charitable element of the product.

For now I guess I will have to put it on ice and revert to working on the version I started in Trainz 2012, battling Speedtrees!

There is the excellent Lister narrow gauge diesel in the file library by richard maxted if you are looking for NG stock, no poblems at all running it in TS2012

Indeed, it's a lovely little thing, but it doesn't really have the pulling power.

Hi all,
I wanted to put some NG stock into Ben's (Bdy26) CKPR Flusco Quarry and it caused all sorts of mayhem! Placing of stock but unable to remove etc.. and game lock up so it'd be great if there was a fix official or otherwise.
I'd even like to make a small scenario for the quarry so if any very nice clever person has a fix could I have a copy please!

You can remove the stock using RW Tools

I am still looking to make more stock as well, bit of a hiatus as work has been demanding. I have some wagons that are about 50% finished and I will get around to finishing them off in the near future. We do need a bit more NG stock and so I have plans for some coaches next....

I am aware of the problem and hope to do something about it after this current route. More news soon.
