There and back again scenario

Post by ttifrum35 »

I am having problems running the 'There and back again' scenario for the Granfield Branch. The train gets to Granfield where you need to turn the loco on the turntable but I can't get to the turntable, when I try to set the points for the turntable approach road I get a message stating 'Junction locked by 7F 53807', this loco is sitting in the refuelling road just off of the turntable approach road. Can anyone help please.

Think I've got this sorted. Set the route before I uncoupled the loco from the train, this lets you set the road and access the turntable, did derail at last point before turntable but that's probably down to pilot error

Just tried scenario again, wasn't pilot error as such, last point is not user changeable so still not sure how to finish this scenario.

Hi

I have not tried this scenario in a long time; I know for certain it was do-able (if overly tightly timed) when it was first written. It is possible that an update has caused it to misbehave, but I will look into this and see what I can see.

I had identical problems with this scenario but managed to complete it by turning TSX off and taking both sets of graphics options down to Lowest. The turntable is an absolute PIA, though, because the 5MT barely fits onto it and getting it into position took me ages, shuffling it inches backwards and forwards.

Re: There and back again scenario SOLVED

problem solved, but what a cludge and clunky fix. Brought the train to a halt just before the auto change point just in front of the turntable, brakes full on and regulator at 0, get the turntable in line, feat in itself :-? , hope onto 7F by coaling point, scenario loco then moves on its own onto turntable, jump off 7F and back onto scenario loco in time, hopefully, to shut it down so that it doesn't crash through the buffer stop; as previously mentioned shuffle loco onto turntable, btw its a wonder the scenario doesn't fail at that point due to derailment talk about lurch as it goes from the fixed track to the turntable, finally manage to get turntable to move, it then lurches to a halt with the loco facing the right way, move off turntable, again wondering if the scenario will fail because of all the lateral movement of the loco and tender as it goes over the join between the turntable and the fixed track and couple loco back onto train. BTW this worked with TSX on and graphics options on highest.
