"Coal from Cole" scenario.

Post by LoneWolfDon »

"Coal from Cole"
Image

This free scenario is compatible with RailWorks2 and RailWorks3 (TS 2012) and makes use of default stock (Player's engine is a Black 5 Steam Engine) and a default route (Bath Green Park to Templecombe) so nothing extra is required.

For more info on this scenario and where to download it, visit my site, http://www.rryard.com/
,then from the menu select "Routes & Scenarios" and you will find the "Coal from Cole" scenario listed there.

I hope you will enjoy it. :)

Thanks, Don! Saw this on your site and downloaded it last night. Haven't gotten a chance to run it yet, but really looking forward to it!

Cool! Once you've had a chance to try it, I'd be interested in your comments on it.
In a way it's an "open Beta" version, but I think it's ready. The few people that have reported back after trying it say that everything worked well and that they enjoyed it.
Cheers! :)

ChrisReb: Thanks for your support of my efforts.
I'm currently working hard on more projects for RailWorks which I hope to release in the not too distant future.
Cheers! :)

Well, Don, that was a delightful scenario. Ran very well. Took right at an hour (I'm not fast, but I'm careful! :) ). Weather was nice and moody. Used the yards well, I thought. Nice combination of automatic switching and manual. I prefer manual myself for the most part. Fun to run steam in the snow!

Looking forward to the others you're working on!

Griphos: Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Glad the scenario worked well for you and that you enjoyed it. Yes, I tend to prefer the manual junctions myself, but of course on some parts on some routes there places where there's no manual junctions to use for a path you want the train to go, so then need to work the automatic-junctions into the scenario in those cases.

For some updates on some other projects I'm working on, check my "Rail Road Yard Blog" at: http://railroadyard.blogspot.com/
I'll try to post regular updates there as well at my main http://www.rryard.com/ site.

Cheers! :)

Completed the scenario without any issues.

Really enjoyable. Route is of particular interest to me as I was born in Templecombe and lived in Wincanton for a while.

Only thing I would say is that apart from Summer weekends 7F's were almost exclusively on the goods trains and not passenger.

Big thanks for this - the scenario has a bit of everything.

ChrisReb:
I appreciate the feedback.

I try to be receptive and I'm learning more about RailWorks, Trains and train-related things in general the longer I'm into the whole Train-Simming scene.
I've come a long way in my knowledge of train related stuff and skills with the Developing side of things in RailWorks, but I know I still have lots of room continue to learn, grow and improve.

My Route & Scenario projects I make are generally fictional-based and oft times may be non-prototypical, so there can be some inaccuracies in what I use or how I make things compared to "real-life" trains, routes, rules, practices and terminology. And I admit, my knowledge is still quite limited in a lot of ways in this regards.
But that aside, I still try my best to make my addons to be of good quality, interesting, functional and fun. I can be satisfied to know that most people that try my addons that it works for them as intended and that they enjoy using them.

Thanks again. :)

Don

I certainly appreciate the time that went into the scenario and would actually be a great intro to someone to show them what TS2012 is about. Not too long and a variety of things to do.

One I will come back to I think.
