UKNG Points fix - doesn't
Does anyone know where I need to install the ukng points patch to fix the problem? After mucking around with textures and whatnot, I finally have the track looking OK - nice textures, BTW Kev- but the floating point blades still spoil the look of the thing...

While I'm having a whinge, there's still this slightly odd gap between some of the pieces - it's probably very prototypical, and doesn't stop the trains, but I'm sure it's not doing the springs any good...

The patch is only needed if you have the first release of the UKNg package, he current release shouldnt have floating point blades. If you ARE using the current version, let me know I i'll have to rework it - again:-(
As to the gap between sections, I haven't found the cure, but it IS very annoying, even tho it is cosmetic, and trains run over the gaps!
The NG tracksections were made by shrinking the standard gauge sections, but something isn't getting quite the right proportions. ANy suggestions for fixes will be very welcome!

Hi Tim,
nice to see you're still around! I will download and reinstall the latest version - but I have a sneaking suspicion that I had this to start with.
The connection issue is only with some of the parts - and they have a different texture as well, which makes them easy to identify. the 125m 10d curve is one. They actually connect fine, but it's as if the texture hasn't stretched far enough.
It wouldn't be an issue, except I'm actually using it in a route for release, and I want to get it looking right. I'll try downloading the latest version, and let you know how it goes.
Cheers
Mike

The floating point problem solved.
Tim Bridge created this set by scaling down standard Xtracks components.
Unfortunately early versions of SFM had a bug in that the animation was not scaled down properly.
Using the latest version, I rescaled the track, and voila! It now works correctly...
I will post a revised patch once I have secured Tim Bridge's permission to do so.
Cheers

Hi Tim,
no big deal - since I seem to be the only one using this track section, it is fair and proper that I should have to fix the bugs!
It was this track type, and the fact that you could run ng and standard gauge trains side by side that got me into ng in the first place - I would never have thought of it!
So well done! Now we'll see how many people download the fix...

Just to note that I've withdrawn this patch - as it doesn't work.
I basically duplicated the error that Tim discovered - the rail height is now too low, and trains fly over the whole thing.
Back to the drawing board - I'm now determined to get this working so I can release my route!
