Missing 8F Cab

Post by anorak001 »

Hi, Has anyone else had problems with missing cabs since updating to Railworks 3. On the S&D route the 8F cab is missing and I have reinstalled Railworks and verified the cache through Steam, but still the cab is missing, also I have found that the cab view position on some locos is now to close to the cab window as if zoomed in. Any help on sorting this out would be much appreciated.

Its the same with both version of the Hall. Not tried the Jubilee, but the Black 5 was ok when I tried it.

No biggie, it will get fixed, and its no like owners of RW tools cant do an interim fix anyway.

That's probably a more realistic view anyway, if you think about it.
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

Hiya, I have a list of steam locos that have this issue, the only other none steam loco I have seen this on is Just trains Class20, If anyone has seen this on any other locos please email Support with your findings.

RS.com will be putting out a fix for the broken cabs within a few days.

regards

Derek

Coolness. Is there any possibility in the future of water on the Steam Loco windows as well? Although admittedly without hand wipers fitted it would be something of an exercise in futility....

Simon, I dont disagree. I think the perspective for the Hall is plausible, the problem is the driver position is sitting right on the reverser. Jolly uncomfortable on long Journeys.

It would be nice to be able to move around the footplate on occasion, just to get a better view of the water or steam gauge.

Looking forward to the patch. I'm still getting the error of the incorrectly positioned cab in the green 47 so you can't see anything other than the inside of the bodyshell through the windows. Will try a verify cache, but is anyone else still getting this?

I've added the rain drops to the King cab without wipers so we will see how that goes down...

There is an old thread with the moves necessary to alter the positions of many cab locos

Derek - I have sent a note to RSC with the contents of the thread detailing the cabs found at the time

Thanks, Derek, for the update on this. Given that my interest is pretty much centred on the steam era, getting the 8F etc back in full working order will be good news. I'm not particularly comfortable modifying the necessary files myself, so an official RSC fix will be much appreciated.

I wonder if clearing rain off the window with an oily rag improved visibility?!
