Some problems :(

Post by Daniel1983 »

I updated my nvidea card to a more recent version, although RW3 ran much smoother, and most of the routes are okay, however a couple are not. also broken conist has appeared

WCML ( platforms, Glasgow Station famous roof, Polmidie (sorry if spelling is wrong) depot buildings etc)

Bristol - Exeter route as well

maybe more

Im thinking of taking Railworks 3 off, then re-instaliing it via steam account, if i do this hopefully it will fix the problem, or steam to make a patch for this. and, all my stock packs routes etc with protected on be still be there?

Thanks
If anyone from Rail simulator staff wise, please help with this, i have asked over on facebook but i know its not monitored all the time.

It sounds like you might be running with the detail level set too low if objects seem to be missing. Go into the graphics part of the TS2012 options and shift it to a higher number to make a higher proportion of the objects visible.

If this doesn't work, follow the normal process you take if there seems to be corrupted or missing content. There is no need to delete and install, since verifying the locally cached files will accomplish the same end but should take 5-10 minutes (plus download time for files that are missing/corrupted) rather than a full download of the entire program and all your Steam DLC. If you do delete everything, Steam will only install the program and DLC items that are associated with your Steam account, not content that you have installed from other sources.

I think you mean you cannot change the card (it may be hard-wired) - you can always update a driver for the card.

Oh, I wouldn't worry about anything PC World says.

I have a Dell all-in-one with an ATI 5470 card, and it can certainly run RW3 in legacy mode at 1980X1080 with all the in-game settings at highest with a frame rate somewhere around 20. Which isn't too bad at all.

I opened it up and it looks like a laptop card, and can indeed be changed if I want to. They're slightly more complex to open than a desktop, but easier than a laptop.

Untick the TS2012 box so a red cross appears.

Have a look at the FAQ section of the forum, there's some very helpful posts on setting TS12 up.
