Re: Railworks.exe lost
That would be on account of the update last night then I would conclude.
Kindest regards

I think you might find that Steam will automatically download anything it finds missing (without validating) It's worth waiting for say 15 minutes and trying to load again.

Re: Railworks.exe lost
I only use the executable to run RW2, ( for obvious reasons )
RW3 starts via the "Steam" client.

Hi all.
Although my TS2012 appears to be working well so far (touch wood!), i have found that i cannot start it in 'off-line' mode, it just won't allow it, i have to be logged into Steam. Is this the norm for TS2012? i could always launch RW2 in 'off-line' mode whenever i wanted to.
Cheers,
Terrone.

If Steam is behaving itself, which it seems to be after the latest Steam client update, then you should be able to run TS2012 offline if you follow the same steps as for RW2.
Make sure TS2012 is up to date, verify the cache if needs be, and then whilst online select 'Go Offline ....' from the 'Steam' menu in the Steam client window, and you should then be able to run TS2012 without going online.

I tried your suggestion Andy, several times but TS2012 still insists that i log into steam before it will startAndyUK wrote:If Steam is behaving itself, which it seems to be after the latest Steam client update, then you should be able to run TS2012 offline if you follow the same steps as for RW2.

Does it work if you launch it using one of the supplied shortcuts in the start menu or from the Steam client while having it open in offline mode?TElsmore wrote:I tried your suggestion Andy, several times but TS2012 still insists that i log into steam before it will startAndyUK wrote:If Steam is behaving itself, which it seems to be after the latest Steam client update, then you should be able to run TS2012 offline if you follow the same steps as for RW2.

Re: Railworks.exe lost
I haven't tried starting it using the shortcut in the start menu, but I have tried running it from the steam client while it is in off-lne mode, but It just won't have it! I have to go on-line. Its a bit bizzare!transadelaide wrote:Does it work if you launch it using one of the supplied shortcuts in the start menu or from the Steam client while having it open in offline mode?TElsmore wrote:I tried your suggestion Andy, several times but TS2012 still insists that i log into steam before it will startAndyUK wrote:If Steam is behaving itself, which it seems to be after the latest Steam client update, then you should be able to run TS2012 offline if you follow the same steps as for RW2.

Re: Railworks.exe lost
Is your steam client up to date ?
Re: Railworks.exe lost
WOW!! I thought it was just me!
I also ran into the missing .exe. Not being terribly well versed in 'behind the scenes' processes, I tried all the obvious tricks, but to no avail. IIRC... the day before there was an update. I suspect that's what blew things out.
In a state of disgust... I uninstalled and started all over again. Most seems fine now.
It still seems to take a bit o' time for the Steam (Client) .Exe to load (from the desktop shortcut). However, the Train Simulator 2012 (offline) shortcut works well.
Later, Bob
