Railworks3 Train Simulator2012 Scenario Editor documentation

Post by rscarter »

There are some new features in the Scenario Editor in Railworks 3 Train Simulator 2012 but I can't find any documentation for these features.
For example, on the browser there are now three boxes labeled "Quick List Red", "Quick List Green", and "Quick List Blue".
Also in the Object Set Filter there appear three boxes next to each option. (some are greyed out)

Is there any documention anywhere for the World Editor or Scenario Editor. Also in the Horseshoe Curve scenarios, there are features at the beginning of scenarios that give a visual tour around the yard. Is there documentation anywhere for these features?

I click the Tools and Docs menu in the startup screen, you can click "Creator Manual" but all it shows is the RailWorks2 documention, not the Railworks3.

The short answer is "not yet"

RS have indicated (unofficially) that further documentation will be forthcoming, but that it isn't their highest priority at the moment

Pick lists in the scenario editor - right click on a loco etc and it will cycle through the 3 lists and 4 times deselects it. To clear a whole list right click on the button and a warning message will ask to con firm it. The other thing is a selected item in the list will be highlighted by the list it is in.

There is a thread here with an unofficial post of some route/scenario editor notes that may not be finalised yet, but make for interesting reading regarding some of the new features. It's mostly for the route editor, but there are a few gems for the scenario creators out there.

Setting the track unevenness is a tricky task, seems it won't select the track you actually are hovering the mouse over but the one adjacent? Tricky if you have third rail too, as it selects that, much ginger fingeredness required! Would be a speedier job if one could select the track from the track view "9"? Just an idea.

With the work required to set unevenness, I would suggest adding it in the world editor rather than the scenario editor as it is permanent! Just done Woking to Haslemere both sides, not easy since it is so fiddly and it doesn't always take. But boy once its in what a difference to the experience.
