Class 47 cab issue
I've got a problem with all my re-skinned 47 cabs whereby the cabview is all messed up and appears to be inset within another 47 cabview and the whole thing is pointing up at some crazy angle??!!
Anyone else seen this or know what's causing it?

Re: Class 47 cab issue
Have you installed the AP sound set? If so then get rid of it by verifying game cache and then going to Richard Armstrong's website to download an updated version that's compatible with TS2012. This is covered in the FAQ at http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 4&t=118550

Re: Class 47 cab issue
Hmm, just verified cache but the cab issue is still there. I don't want to re-install the AP sounds because the new defaults are awesome.
Where do I go from here? Can't quite understand how a soundpack could make the cab go nuts? Some 47's are ok but on others the cabview has gone completely mental. I've tried going into RW tools to swap out those affected for a default 47 but there are so many 47's in my Kuju folder it's impossible to tell which are defaults.

Re: Class 47 cab issue
reskins from RW2 era won't work without the old geo file since there is a new one for the new 47, the cab also looks to have had a update so I can only assume that is the problem here, they did make mention with the 2nd reminder about backing up the old geo file.

Re: Class 47 cab issue
My guess is that the 47 cab view was upgraded along with the external model, and since all 3rd party reskins are referencing the default cabview there's a conflict occurring somewhere

Re: Class 47 cab issue
Not good, does that mean I'm up the river without a paddle? or is there any way back? I did make a copy of my assets folder, which file exactly would I need to copy?crumplezone wrote:reskins from RW2 era won't work without the old geo file since there is a new one for the new 47, the cab also looks to have had a update so I can only assume that is the problem here, they did make mention with the 2nd reminder about backing up the old geo file.

Re: Class 47 cab issue
Apparently:
If I recall it should be the geo files in rail vehicle section and the cab folder, but I'm not 100% sure, but deffinately the reskin issues is down the change in geo file since the new 47 is a completely different mode, while the reskins would be applied to the model they would be out of place and what not which causes funky cab view and graphic glitch all over the place.Ok all your second reminder to back up your personal work.
For those of you who care about Class 166, 47 and SD40 reskins please back up these core folders, you may need the core files if Reskins fail to work correctly:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class166
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class47
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD40-2
regards

Re: Class 47 cab issue
I think it's a bit complicated... you'd have to rename the "old" cabvbiew to something dfifferent, drop it back into your assets folder and edit the .bin files of all your reskins to point at that cabview instead of the default
Not complicated exactly, but long winded if you've got as many 47 reskins as I have (nearly 200
)
If you just replace the new cabview with the old one you'll fix the reskins but snafu the updated defaults

Re: Class 47 cab issue
Geez this is bad. I think I will have to search for a 47 that works and just swap every scenario with a 47 to use that particular loco.
I've got so many in my folder I just can't tell which is default and which is a reskin at the moment although it seems that some defaults are affected too. I managed to find the default green 47 and that worked ok but so far all others are 'duff'

Same here .... I Managed to find the NSE 47 dlc and used this in one of my own scenarios where the cab view was err funky....I've got so many in my folder I just can't tell which is default and which is a reskin at the moment although it seems that some defaults are affected too. Its a shame that this cab does not have the rain effects added to it yet ( well i dont have it )...... should it have it ?.....i dont know .
Im close to deleting the RW folder and letting steam reinstall from scratch without any 3rd party addons/ reskins ....
Thats not a criticism of RW at all but my own useless memory for not knowing what is what and what is where, so a clean slate may help ....( age is a terrible thing )...lol
Liking RW3 at the mo , but not liking the unlock thing for HSC....(mainly because i suck at it )
Cheers all
Brian
Re: Class 47 cab issue
I had this problem with the new 47 and the ap soundpack plus 2 tone horn patch installed, What i did was verify cache then reinstall the new ap soundpack but did not install the 2 tone horn patch, New 47 works fine now

Re: Class 47 cab issue
Apologies about that. For a short time the two-tone horn patch was faulty but it has now been fixed.

Re: Class 47 cab issue
If I delete my entire class 47 folder then it will render most of my hundreds of scenarios useless! Nightmare this is.tofwings wrote:Same here .... I can't work it out, on Port Road I can get a large logo 47 to work no problem. I went into RW tools checked which one it was and it said "BR Class 47 Large Logo" or something like that so I tried to find this in my 47 folder and there are loads named exactly the same. I tried swapping them all out in turn for a 47 that won't work in the China Clay route but none of them worked!!?? Is it a route specific problem? I don't have a clue where to go from here. The only 47 I can get working is on one Port Road scenario.

Re: Class 47 cab issue
What about if you don't want to reinstall AP sounds though? I've done verify cache thing but it had no effect on its own. If I install the AP soundpack again then it might cure the cab issue but then I now prefer the new default sounds.
