I had that bug a few hours ago. Any idea what causes this?Darpor wrote:To be honest, that sounds like the old "cab shake" bug rather than cab sway.
Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 3)
Hi, thanks for quickly confirming the issue Steve. I have placed many miles of the chainlink fence in my route, hopefully Jeff may be able to update these assets at some point in the future.FoggyMorning wrote:HiVarney wrote:Slightly off topic, but I notice that Jeff's (JADsHome) superb chainlink fence kit is now not rendering correctly in my route (intermediate posts missing). Would someone be able to check another route that they know uses this asset to see if is correct for them?
Thanks in advance
I have the same issue; individually placed posts are fine as are the end posts, but no intermediate posts. The palisade fences are appearing completely invisible also. I would guess it's something to do with the shader Jeff has used having changed for TS2012, but that is a complete guess

Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 3)
Hi,
Has anyone else had an error message when they have tried to start the simulator. The error message reads:
ERROR: Could not find shader MLAA.fx
FILE:DxCommon\cHcPostprocessingMaterialDx.cpp
LINE:686
Can anyone help?
Best wishes
Colin

63 guest's online.. and counting. I wonder how many are looking for advice on 'optimal graphic settings'! I was!!
I've just gone and spent an eye watering £200 on an new graphics card............. but results are now very impressive!
Plenty of time over the weekend to get settings just right.

Has anyone noticed that the default carriage sounds have been improved? For example hearing train pass by in german route sounds alot more realistic. Also the default flange sound seem to have improved.

Unfortunately I got the same error as 4472flyingscotsman when I tried to load the Hitachi scenario on TestTrak. When I tried to load Oxford to Reading local, DEP (or should that be DERP?) stuck it's unwanted nose in and caused an SBHH. Loaded up Cajon Pass...wow. I love the new horn and radio chatter for the ES44AC, and I'll try to disable the shadows to get a better performance. The cab sway is good too.

Just to announce that there are 2357 players playing RW at the moment. I believe it is all time record. When RW2 was out it was 1200 or so. It seems the userbase has nearly doubled.

I am running the sim with high detail shadows and getting 20 to 24 fps, my system is "old" compared to a lot of peoples specs? 8800 gtx for example 2.2 ghz cpu and 4 gig of 800 measly mhz ram!

Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 3)
Woe is me!!
Upgraded this morning - worked sort of OK but badly needs tweaking to stop things jerking about (a slide show has been mentioned!) then someone said 'update your graphics drivers'; I'll kill 'em as now I haveTS2012 will not load at all despite having done a verify which, for some reason, reloaded over 7000 files?
The RW2 backup is going in now!!!

Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 3)
Been doing some further testing, and I would certainly take the inbuilt fps counter with a pinch of salt.
Q6600, 4GB RAM, 32bit Vista 2x8600GS, 1680x1050
First - Legacy Mode
Used to run RW2 on full settings and get 30 fps. Full settings on RW3 legacy non-TSX mode, 20 fps, and very stuttery. Maybe this is not a fair comparison as maybe RW3 is doing more, so perhaps people in legacy mode will find they have to turn their settings down.
TSX Mode
SLi mode seems to make no difference what so ever, neither did setting the nVidia control panel to use application 3d settings (never had an RW profile setup anyway)
Can barely run in TSX mode at 1680x1050 native resolution. Lowest settings pre-startup and ingame. fps barely over 14fps. Not convinced RW3 is running in realtime.
fps can be improved by running lower resolutions in full screen mode. However there is no aspect ratio resolution.
1680x1050 is aspect ratio 1.6. Lowest available on my PC that worked in full screen is 1280x800. However, text looks blurry. Hurts the eyes, generates headaches, yuck. Native resolution is so much clearer.
Running on 1280x800 ratio, lowest settings, but detail slider ratched up to 10 so I can see all the foliage and other objects (essential) for route building. At least RW3 seems to be running in realtime.
Might be able to tweak some of the other settings, but it looks like this is about the best I can do on this system.

Anyone noticed AI trains can now do this? HUD left up as proof that I'm not moving it
