LogMate Repeaters
Can anyone please explain what the following is all about (in relatively plain English!) as, trying to load a route yester with LogMate running I got six hours of these repeated lines before it fell to a dreaded SBHH?!

Re: LogMate Repeaters
Something to do with track and points I think. What's the route, and does it require non-default track?

Re: LogMate Repeaters
Pretty sure not but will have to trudge thru the Tracks.bin to check (big as it is) and give RW_Tools another spin? Later ...bdy26 wrote:Something to do with track and points I think. What's the route, and does it require non-default track? B
The route is South West Wales:

Re: LogMate Repeaters
Good idea, run it through RW Tools to see it is shows anything. Normally missing assets aren't so much of an issue (provided you like drinking virtual milk
) but tracks will be. Make sure you've got the payware dependencies and the SAD route, as all contain custom tracks that may have been used.
Usual rule applies of clearing cache and then if that doesn't work, verify integrity of game cache in Steam as that will resolve any errors in default assets and file
If you've investigated as far as you can and still can't get it work drop Pacerpilot a PM.
Hope you get it working

All required routes are in place.bdy26 wrote:Good idea, run it through RW Tools to see it is shows anything. You can't do that for a third party route! All default assets are in place as the route is in a dedicated, stand-alone version of Steam/Railworks2 with just the required route assets added. The only sceanrio is an empty one too.bdy26 wrote:Usual rule applies of clearing cache and then if that doesn't work, verify integrity of game cache in Steam as that will resolve any errors in default assets and file
If you had read the thread (as per the link above) you will have seen that there are now 22 pages of messages that PacerPilot is constantly monitoringbdy26 wrote:If you've investigated as far as you can and still can't get it work drop Pacerpilot a PM.

Re: LogMate Repeaters
I know it doesn't resolve non-steam third party routes, but an error in or corrupt default file if referenced by the third party route could cause the error. Whilst you'd expect it to cause the same error in other routes, it doesn't necessarily work that way in reality. Errors have to be diagnosed by elimination not guesswork.Traveller54 wrote:You can't do that for a third party route! RW Tools will list out every asset for you - it could be there is a missing download not referred to. This is very easily done if an asset is created in the Kuju/RailSimulator folder as it will look like a default one in the editor.
If you've done all that then I don't know what else to suggest (though I haven't read through all 22 pages to check as its 22 pages

Re: LogMate Repeaters
Believe you me I have spent HOURS trying to eliminate these 'errors' and the bizarr thing is that there seems to be no common denominator. This particular route (SWW) did load but then, and I swear I did not add or delete any file from the Steam or Railworks folders, stopped and has not loaded since even the latest version has made no difference to this??bdy26 wrote:I know it doesn't resolve non-steam third party routes, but an error in or corrupt default file if referenced by the third party route could cause the error. The most bizzar thing is that other users who have mirrowed the 'dedicated steam/railworks' installation have been able to load the route - yet others haven't!
I have to disagree slightly here. I have found this morning that whilst a certain set of files used from kngtrains (2ft & 2.3ft tracks) did not show as missing - but the embedded track files within two of the main .bin files were not reported as 'missing'. I can only assume that RW_Tools does not go down more than one level but I have got to check this with Mike.bdy26 wrote:RW Tools will list out every asset for you - it could be there is a missing download not referred to. As I have said in the other thread, this is not a witch-hunt about this particular route (as other routes cause me and others similar troubles!) but an attempt to try and find out why these sorts of things happen.bdy26 wrote:If you've done all that then I don't know what else to suggest (though I haven't read through all 22 pages to check as its 22 pages)
There are two things that would assist this:
1] A tool that would report what is causing the SBHH that is understandable to the common man! LogMate and chocolate teapots can be compared here?
2] The support from RailSimimulator.com to help 'power users' overcome these for the betterment of the sim as a whole. There reluctance to completely ignore anything 'third party' is disheartening at the least and strange at the most as it would no doubt help everyone enjoy the sim as it is meant to be enjoyed rather than fighting it jsut to see darned engine running along a track?!
Hopefully someone of substance at RS will read this and respond ... but I ain't holding my breath!

Re: LogMate Repeaters
I agree there is very little diagnosis available with the game and I know how frustrating it can be - it would be nice to think RW3 might improve this but I don't think its a priority. I'll install the route and see if I can replicate the error.

Re: LogMate Repeaters
Agree with all of above having also spent many hors on this and other routes trying to get them to work without proper diagnostics for SBHH errors.
I now have 5 installs of RW to get all the routes running. I have even tried copying back an entire satellite RW install over my main one to see if the problem route(s) will work in my mai install/ Logic says they should having exactly the same files to use but No.

For what it is worth I get all those messages as well but the difference is the route loads ok for me, so I don't think those messages explain why you can not do the same.Traveller54 wrote:Can anyone please explain what the following is all about (in relatively plain English!) as, trying to load a route yester with LogMate running I got six hours of these repeated lines before it fell to a dreaded SBHH?!

I was really hoping I was getting somewhere but my hopes are dashed so back to basics by the looks?
Many thanks for the information though; very much appreciated (really!).
