The block indicator is fantastic - I read the rest, saw "working point levers" and immediately started plotting how to do manual signals and instruments, and then noticed the indicators. What a fantastic piece of work!

I'm not sure how much you'd mess up the dispatcher by blocking the train asking for a path, by intercepting the setting of signals and doing it yourself with some levers, but it's surely worth a look at. I noticed the dispatcher does lock points at times - which would be very necessary - so there's some hope that there's enough interlocking present to keep it all sane.
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

Thanks for posting about this. An excellent model of a signal box on its own, but the working parts are hugely impressive, The thought and work that must of gone into it is incredible, would never of thought of a working signal box for RW in a million years myself.
Currently recreating Salisbury to Exeter 50s/60s.
almost all yard, trackwork, scenery and signalling complete salisbury - wilton. Trackwork 2013 standard to Gillingham, Older beyond. - Abandoned due to newer tools in subsequent TS versions.

Hmmm, I'm a bit confused, I lnow it doesn't take much these days. :D
It says in the description for this asset - The animated signal box fully set up for you in a clone of the Bath-Templecombe route, which I take it means that you get a clone of the route included, but, I assume the signal box is at one end of the layout, it doesn't cover the whole map, surely, or, is it in the middle of the map and it covers the whole route each way?? Any ideas please those who've installed this excellent looking piece of equipment.

From what I read in the description, the box is placed at Wincanton

From the youtube link, if i understand it right the box controls nothing on the line itself. Rather the lever pulls were timed to match what was happening outside the window. If you notice with the last train going through, the signal drops, then the lever is pulled.

Nice to watch trains from and some video makers could add some atomosphere to their efforts too.

Ah, so it doesnt actually control anything, it just references movement of signals and points and reflects them in the box. Fascinating as it stands though it has to be said.

I wonder if you actually set the points up to manual, and convert it into something akin to a ground frame? Then you could actually move points (and in some cases signals) from inside the box itself?

Hi All

Using Mike's Track Rule manual points create a black lever which can be added into the frame with the red & yellow signal levers.
Unlike the signal levers which are moved automatically, the point levers can be used to operate the points in the same way as any other manual point lever - it's just that they are physically grouped together within the signalbox.
I have run a test using AI traffic through a junction in a Timetabled scenario, and both point and signal levers are automatically set correctly to allow the AI to follow its pre-defined route.
I'm not sure what would happen with a "driven " train. I suspect you would have to use "8" mode to leave the cab, enter the box and operate the point levers to set the correct route before proceeding.
