Autonumbers

Post by Trainguy76 »

Hiya, when I try to incorporate autonumbers onto my wagon, I receive "Unexpected num of parameters in CSV file <1> ..." upon export, everything else works.

I would like to know how to resolve this. I have a named texture set properly created, and I think I've referenced it correctly. My .csv file just looks like a whole bunch of 6 digit numbers stacked downwards.

Have you got it set up correctly? The first two columns (A and B) should have zeros for each row there is a number where the third column (C) should have your number in it.

So your csv should start:
0,0,300367
0,0,369005
0,0,36006
etc

I would have not expected that, do you know why it is done this way?

Why it has to be this way, no idea. That's the way it is described in the RS DevDocs & the RW Wiki.

That's what I meant (in excel at least), you'll find more examples as Malcolm said, in the Wiki and RS Dev Docs. :)

Got that part, however now when I export the model from the BE, it takes 1/4 as long and and only the couplers, and a random part from the body appears.

Well, without the numers everything is fine. The object with the numbers is named '1_0300_primarydigits_6' and is everything is parented to the main body.

The auto numbers are supposed to be a child of the main body right?

I don't think they *need* to be, but can be if you find it logical I think.

Today, I discovered that "primarydigits6" and "primarydigits_6" are not interchangeable, thanks for the help guys.
