Hi Folks.
First of all, I apologise if this has been covered - I did a search, found a couple of threads, but there had been no posts since May, and I wasn't (still aren't really) sure if bumping, or a new thread was the best option.
I finally purchased RailWorks 2 (yes - the 75% off Steam sale convinced me!) recently. When I first got Rail Simulator, I purchased the IoW add-on from railsimulator.com (download version). I know an RW update exists from Just Trains, but it doesn't work with the original version I have. I did email JT support, who confirmed their updates don't work with the rs.com version, and suggested I contact their support.
I've received an automated response, telling me to refer to the various FAQs, and to reply if my issue is still not resolved. Before doing that, I thought I'd post here, and see if anyone else has managed to obtain a working RW / RW2 update or replacement for their 'pre-steam. Rail Simulator' version of IoW.
Cheers
Gaz
P.S - Mods - if you would have preferred I bump an old thread, please feel free to move this one.

Re: RS.com Isle of Wight - RailSim to RailWorks Update
If you upgraded to Railworks then the origonal Isle of Wight route should still work. The Railworks version did include some improvements and that was available from Steam. I am afraid I don't know anything about the JT version other than I just thought it was the same as the Steam RW version.

Hi Gaz,
Have you used this for your Rail Simulator version of IOW Route to upgrade to RailWorks (from Just Trains Support):

Re: RS.com Isle of Wight - RailSim to RailWorks Update
I seem to recall from previous forum posts that the JT update to the IoW as published by them (same as the boxed edition) does not work for the download edition sold directly by RSDL. I've also heard that there are only minor changes and that the RSDL download edition should work for RW/RW2 as long as you use the legacy addon install button.emrhd01 wrote:Hi Gaz,

I don't personally know the full details of this because I only got it through Steam, this is passed on from previous posts.

Re: RS.com Isle of Wight - RailSim to RailWorks Update
Thanks for the replies folks.
For some reason (one which I have yet to figure out), the RS version refused to install in RailWorks (using the advised 'legacy install' option) on either my desktop or laptop machines to begin with. However, it has now installed OK on the desktop machine, and is working just fine.
And just for reference - the Just Trains update will not work with the railsimulator.com version of the download (JT support confirmed this).
