Peculiar animation

Post by DarwinS »

Well I was going to upload another loco before we pack up the computer.... but perhaps now it will not happen.

In shape viewer everything animates as it should... but in MSTS although the front bogie wheels rotate about the correct axis they appear at 45 degrees to the rails instead of parallel to them :o Any thoughts from anyone?

It's a parenting error.

Happened to me recently - The wagon worked perfectly but it was at 90 degrees to the track.
I had copied Bogie1 and forgot to re-name it Bogie2

If it's got buffers it's Chain.

No can't hold you to blame John... I was reskinning one of your Castles, but never did find out why the original was happy and the reskin was not. I checked and it was not a parenting issue... deleted and replaced the part... then the it went even funnier... finally just went back to the original model changed the textures again then overwrite and no problem.

Fickle thing MSTS.

...oh and yes we will be in UK in July and not too far from a steam railway it seems, we are hoping to rent a house near the KWVR in Yorkshire.

Nice choice Darwin, :D Yorkshire will always be my favourite English county.... :)

School holidays and trips spent in The East Riding holds so many memories both happy and sad.
