Carriages share bogies (4 units, 5 bogies) - How?

The intricacies, or simplicities of 3D modelling are worth understanding. Alongside other forums like Building Rolling Stock, Scenic Item Creation and the other tool specific forums here's another place to ask questions that just don't quite fit the other forums.

Carriages share bogies (4 units, 5 bogies) - How?

Post by vlado960 »

Does someone has an idea how to solve the problem with bogies (on the picture), which are placed in this way. You can see that carriages share bogies. Although I have made a few locomotives this is something entirely new for me. On the picture is EMU.

1a has 2 bogie models with the 2a end extending out under where 2a would sit, 2a has a bogie model at the 2b end and an invisible box for a bogie at the 1a end. Well that's how I'd try it anyway. Well do you actually need the invisible bogie model? maybe just the bogie pivot is enough?

To give you hope, can be done. It works with 1 shared bogies and with 2 shared bogies so i don't see problems for 3 shared bogies.

I tried but no success. I think the problem is becouse the bogie pivot and unit pivot share the same value. Here's picture and video...

The problem was in pivot point of real and fake bogie than was in same point. The pivot of fake bogie must be a bit (0.50 m) shorter then real bogie. So, now is OK
