Well, ive done 4 miles south of Penrith on the WCML. This may tempt me further, but some LMS P3s would be much more fitting. ... Default Mk1s in blue and silver may make me cry.

I think the point of the earlier comment about JT's geography was missed. If the train is going from Newcastle to York, it's not going to be an express from London. It's going the wrong way!

Bob.

P.S. Very much looking forward to the release.

Personally I prefer the red and gold/yellow livery but the loco itself looks to be up to Matt Ivey's usual high standards from what I've seen so far. I'd echo the earlier comments about some proper period coaching stock being desirable, but I suppose it's possible this is something that might be included with a future expansion, as was the case with the A4. I suppose at a push the Gresley Coronation set could be substituted, though I don't know at the moment if the colours match exactly

Was mentioned on there facebook page that the red and gold liveries will be coming in expansion like the A4 packs, possible new coaching stock, but who knows really. I'll be enjoying it either way, and be interesting to hear what it sounds like and if they recorded from one of the duchies still in service or not.

The loco looks great -- check out the coal ram in the tender! -- easily up to Matt's usual high standard.

Was very much hoping that we'd get a proper set of LMS coaches to go with it, but here's hoping they come along with the Patriot. For the meantime, I'll be hanging on to my money.

As a model it looks impeccable, very impressive as we'd expect. Personally, the lack of anywhere to run it prototypically in streamlined form means it's not very high up my to-buy list. I would have happily bought it at twice the price for a set of LMS Period 3s, but hopefully we will get some from somewhere soon.

The Market is certainly not short of shiny pay ware at the moment.

I agree, a superb looking model, but without appropriate stock to go with it, I'll be keeping my wallet closed for now. Should suitable carriages make an appearance in the future though, this will definately be on my wishlist.

According to JT's website a expansion to this with red and black liveries is due on the 25th, afraid its not LMS coaches included again but royal scot mark 1s in red.

As Crumplezone has mentioned above, the Duchesses & Cities add-on pack is being released on Monday - here are some screenshots, bigger ones are on the website. Duchess of Hamilton really looks lovely, just like when I saw it at the NRM :D

Any word on whether there are any LMS coaches in the pipeline, Simon?

Quite sorely tempted to give these a run over Beattock now!

Certainly is more tempting with the red liveries, I have nothing against the blue version, but always end up recognising the Princess corries as the red with gold stripes.

This painting always symbolised them to me:
