The sounds on the slam door set are quite unique, do not mind waiting a little while longer - if compressor sounds and intermittent motor sounds are correct. Would be nice to have passenger view for this one.

The BR blue & blue/grey ones? I could do a set with my shading & specular map if you really want them that badly and Dave doesn't mind ( I don't think he will somehow ).

Hello Kariban, Yes please, if atall possible.....or could you kindly post an instruction as to how this is done, which would help the learning curve here. Many thanks in advance.

I was just thinking (ouch) wouldn't it be nice if the MBSO was the powered car and not one or both of the DTCsoL's,
So the sound would come from the right place in the consist ,
If it can be done, it would help out the guys making the DVT's too,
and also be good for future SR Emu's, 4Rep/4Tc's and push pull setup's.

I'm going back to my cupboard now.
I've been to Eastbourne too, So what!

Something similar to that is already done with the Class 101 DMU's DTCL. It has an engine (required to have a cab) but it is extremely weak and silent. Meanwhile it can still control the DMBS attached to it.

The only problem is that someone mixed up their units when making the DM cars, so the 101 is about 3x as powerful as it should be - if you make a DMBS-TSL-TSL-DTCL set it performs roughly as a prototypical DMBS-TSL-DMCL should.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.

The way RW handles multiple power units seems to be to take the unit being driven, i.e. the one with the driver icon, and multiply its power by the number of power units in the consist. This means that the power given to the driving trailer can't be very low otherwise performance would be way off. In the case of the Class 101 Driving Trailers their Maxpower and Maxforce have been made half that of the Driving Motors which, despite the otherwise poor setup of the Class 101 physics, gives more prototypical performance if the DT + DM set is driven from the trailer. Driven from the DM however the performance of the same set is much brisker due to the set effectively having two power cars.

I was thinking of a driving trailer that wasn't powered, but could still be driven,
probably something in the game core needs to be fixed, before too many Dmu's and Emu's are made,
IIm sure it will be fixed soomer or later,

But sooner would be good.

Dave B has achieved it in his 317 and I believe his 455, so it's doable! :)

Well, that's different from what I discovered when I experimented some time ago...

...but I just re-tried it with some test trains, and it does appear to be the case now. :( I honestly don't know what those people were drinking when they thought that was a good idea. :drinking:
