I agree it's about time we got a decent (Payware) southern EMU, lets just hope the slammer is just as good as the 156 for quality of both sounds and the model.

Just to say - it doesn't have to be payware to be decent, and there's many a freeware author who might be annoyed by that statement!nukem wrote:I agree it's about time we got a decent (Payware) southern EMU, lets just hope the slammer is just as good as the 156 for quality of both sounds and the model.

Re: Class 421 4CIG - Coming Soon
I do hope RSC include the 422 BIG option. It really wouldn't take them much effort.
It would be nice to have the CEPs and BEPs as well, but that would require a lot of modification from a CIG, as the roof profile and window surrounds are different, and they ran on different bogies. I assume that the 423 VEPs are really too different to model at the same time as the body shell would be entirely different.
All the classes mentioned there were frequent performers on the Portsmouth Direct line.

Oh I didn't mean to offend anyone developer or otherwise with my comment, the Freeware southern EMU's (2HAP, 2EPB, 4EPB etc) are fantastic units I really enjoy using them in RW. what I was trying to say is we have some decent freeware southern region EMU's but we don't seem to have any decent payware Southern region EMUs (that I am aware of) other than the class 450 that comes with the Portsmouth Direct and I was a bit disappointed by the class 450.
I've been having loads of fun with the freeware units blasting up and down the pompey direct. I also hope that what was achieved in the freeware EPB can be achieved with the RSC slammer.
I am sorry if my comment offended anyone.

2 EPBs and what not are brilliant no doubt about that. What you tend to get with Payware is slightly better rendering and cab view, no disrespect to Dave B.
The north has all the trains it needs, bar a pacer, *ducks*...

Dave B's EPB sets are wonderful models and the cab model is also fantastic. If I had the relevant digital skills I'd try to tone down the shine ( specular effect) of the external texture finish...that goes generally and for RS.coms texture finishes.
Regarding the 4-CIG, please please RS.com could you include it in its earliest versions....ie no high intensity light and early blue/green liveries or atleast before its 1980s refitting. Very much Hope this is possible, thankyou.

Re: Class 421 4CIG - Coming Soon
AS well as the NSE one, would be good to have a Southern (GoVia) one

From the Facebook page:
RailSimulator.com The 4CIG release has been moved after we spent too much time on the company day out and ate to many biscuits. Sorry about that. More news on its release will come soon. Adam

The BR blue & blue/grey ones? I could do a set with my shading & specular map if you really want them that badly and Dave doesn't mind ( I don't think he will somehow ).hokitika67 wrote:Dave B's EPB sets are wonderful models and the cab model is also fantastic. My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

423's would be essential for the SOUTHERN REGION as would 455's. I hope these models get tackled.alexnick wrote: I assume that the 423 VEPs are really too different to model at the same time as the body shell would be entirely different.
