Class 87 & 90

Post by TimSYoung40145 »

Does anyone know if a Class 87 & 90 add-on is available or being considered in the future?

I've heard that Oovee may be working on a class 90, but until they announce it officially it's just a rumour.

Zane has alluded to it many times, saying it is planned.

Well, not a rumour as such if the company have said they intended to build it.

I must have missed that announcement then. It'll be nice to have a more modern electric locomotive available for routes like WCML North.

Class 87 & 90

Post by TimSYoung40145 »

If we do get 87s & 90s, what chance of Classes 81-85 as a historic Add-on for WCML?

Could you imagine e.g. Class 84 leaving Glasgow Central for London Euston, 82/83s on ECS out of London Euston or 85101 leaving Manchester Piccadilly on the Roarer Requiem Railtour.

I await constructive and pleasant answers.

Hi Tim

There's no connection between the 87 & 90 models and the Class 81-85 series, as they would need to be completely different models.

Hi Ash, do you think with the correct models that we may see these wonderful Electric veterans produced in the future?

Well, the correct models are all that would be needed...

It will depend on someone making them.

Hope nobody thinks I am hinting, but all that nostalgia, I can hear that distinctive noise.

A 90 to the standards of the 156 and 57 would be something to behold. Some 1st gen ACs would be wonderful...
