Hi all
I have just been trying to run the Conrail indy NWV route, but kept getting missing global shape file errors, so I ran it through route riter and it reported the following missing shapes...............

I suspect that these are road shapes as there wasn't any trackwork missing.
I have got the latest version of newroads installed, and none of the above shapes are in tsection 41.
I did a search for this and the only reference to it was on the Railsim forum but with no satisfactory resolution.
Does anyone know what these shapes are and where they can be obtained?
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
I don't know what shapes they are but I picked a couple of your files at random and found them in my "ConrailIndy 2" shapes folder, not in the Global folder.
Can't remember where I got the route from, ( probably trainsim.com ) but I haven't run the route for some time and it's now stored away on a different drive.
Also, not sure what's the difference between ConrailIndy 2 and Conrail Indy NWV.
Chris.
P.S.
Just looking on trainsim.com, there's 5 zips for Conrail Indy V2 dated 2003 so I'm guessing that's the version I've got.

Re: Anyone know what these are?
Hi, thanks for your replies
Conrailindy 2 is the same as the one I have.
I looked in the conrail shapes folder, they were not in there, but I noticed that the majority of the shape files in there started with "ci_" leading me to believe that they are dedicated shapes for that route.
I have got scalerail and scale roads already installed, but thanks for the heads-up anyway
Will have to try and download the route again and see what happens.
Thanks
Mark

Is this on your Vista machine??
If so, you may be suffering from the permissions issue that the security system on Vista can cause. If you haven't done the permissions fix, the it may be worth doing so and rerunning the route install.
I very much doubt redownloading the route will resolve anything...

Re: Anyone know what these are?
Thanks Doug.
It is on the main MSTS set up on my XPsp3 desktop machine, I do have a smaller MSTS set up on my Vista laptop, I have all the permissions set up on that one, as I often use that to test new rolling stock, set up aliases etc. before installing to my main MSTS installation.

How about rolling back the T sec to 38? seem to remember it did say that 38 was included with the route.
Just an idea.

Re: Anyone know what these are?
I have managed to get the route working by copying other road shapes with the same values (eg: 4 lane straight 100m etc.) and renaming them to the required filenames for the route, then I ran the route through route riter which copied the required textures over.
Some of the road textures are probably wrong, but at least the route is now playable
Thanks everyone for your imput
