Hi There,

I have had some time to have a look at the drawing and comparing it with the original model, I have made a lot of alterations.

It does not look so much the lightweight anymore and has more of the chunky boiler look of the original.

The boiler is a bigger diameter and the cab is a litlle taller and wider.

I have added some more pieces as well.

Hi Danny,

Thanks,

I now need to look under the footplate and sort out the frames, brakes and sanders.

Hi Jimmy,
How many polys is it weighing in at?
I aint keepin' the score untill I export it to the sim then I'll panic.

The J50 weighed in at 29500
The Mackintosh 3F Tank 27600

Neither gave any problem, The R1 should be ok.

Hi There,

This morning I have applied some basis textures to the model and exported it to the sim. Several shape errors showed up which have all been fixed and is now ready for final modification and for the final textures to be applied.

It now even carries a number

Hi Danny,

I am in Bournmouth for the weekend and the weather has finally decided to rain. I am building the R1 on my laptop and I just happen to have brought it with just in case the weather turned.

The model currently weighs in at 30075 polys, I have a few more jobs to do inside the cab.

Hi There,

The weekend is over and it will be back to the Crab. I have finished off with texturing the smokebox front, sides and boiler.
