Spot the April Fool

Post by douglee »

Hi All,
Spot the April Fool. Just for fun.

Post your candidates in this thread.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12923112

Of course it is very believable, It is the BBC after all.

Good luck
Doug

Hi Geoff,
Saw that as well on the 1st of March but this bit made me think:-
Instead, the car uses an inductive charging system, with a panel fixed under the car connecting remotely to a panel on the garage floor.
There is no rule about setting up an April Fool in advance, Is there?.

Also the time of the BBC post made me think as well Ist April 00.08.

Good luck

Hi Ash,
I prefer the third one down, much more believable. We need all the 'bomb damage' we can get and it must be protected.

My favourite is.
This year the TT Course is to be reversed. As GPS Data has indicated the island has moved 3deg. anti-clockwise as a result of the friction created by the slick racing tyres. It is hoped this action will save the re-printing of of our map.

Good or what.

Good luck

A couple more railway ones:

I do think the desiro at Alresford picture is actually genuine, i seem to remember some years ago before they were properly introduced at least one unit was taken there for some form of testing?

Edit:

A pic of said unit at Ropley on the line:

Love this bit :D
ENVIRONMENT

Funding will also cover a new CO2 initiative being led by the engineering team at Ropley shed. The 3rd electric rail will also be extended from Alton to Winchester as part of this project, the steam locomotive fleet will be adapted to include a pick up shoe with electric motors in the tender. This would help to reduce coal consumption by 100%. Steam effects will be provided through electrically powered boilers. The initiative is believed to be the very first of its kind ever attempted in preservation and could pave the way for future projects elsewhere.

Tis all true, IIRC the Stockport-Stalybridge train runs every saturday only once, single way, and is usually operated by a Pacer...
