Excellent stuff Steve - that there choo choo is what got me into trains. I still have the 1982 issue of Rail Enthusiast with that on the cover, which I bought after seeing that beestie fly through Lockerbie as a wee lad

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments - once I've done the big stuff and start on the detailing, I'll post some bigger shots, see what you feel from there.

I remember the first time I saw one at Carlisle station, I was out on a day trip with the parents - I remember thinking it was the most futuristic thing I had ever seen... and you can imagine what impact it had when my Dad told me it could tilt around corners and go as fast as 155mph! Sadly I missed the opportunity to travel on one a few weeks later due to the fact that, on the day we were supposed to go, I came down with Chicken Pox... bloody typical. I did get to sit in the cab two weeks later though, my Dad knew the driver and he agreed a "brief" visit to the cab was in order. That was me hooked from that day on.

centrals looking good there, still one of the finest buildings in manchester.
working on a route thats not too far a way through stockport tiviot dale up the old route to new mills i hope to get through to central one day.

Mostly south-west Manchester, yes. It includes the MSJA&R in it's entirety, the CLC as far as Trafford Park, the L&M as far as Eccles, from Liverpool Road, And a fair amount of the MSC lines around Trafford Docks.

Please feel free to make whatever you like however.

for me central is still a bit of a dream. my intentions were to a.complete the old midland route from heaton Mersey up to gowhole yard (near new mills) then add the new route through hazel grove. id be quite happy if i could get this done for a complete route, but obviously there is plenty of scope to take the route further. ill hopefully get some screen shots of my progress over the next week.
however your route looks very interesting, as to where it takes in. loads of potential for shunting activities. knowing the area well and knowing the amount of work and model making required you guys deserve credit just for trying.

I hopefully (fingers crossed) will finish the model for the class 67 by Monday! Theres a bit more detail to add to the bogie's and underframes plus the coupling to do and then its done (well for this version).
