APT-E
Hi all, I'm not sure if any-one has asked before, but I would love an APT-E for railworks, whether payware or not. Does anyone know of one in exsistence or know anyone who is making one??

There is not one yet ( or a -P either ). I'm still considering how to do articulated bogies well, that's the first hurdle ( iirc there's some stock with an A4 pack that does it to some extent? don't own it, I'm not sure how well it works ).

I would love to see either/both APT in RW. I've just picked up a WTT suitable for WCML North for 81/82 & the APT is shown with the 2 booked workings - 0700 from Glasgow & returning with the 1630 from Euston.
Expanding the TS wagon fleet.

I would love to do either ( and considered it as they're not compicated models, hence thoughts on articulation ), but my modelling is barely progressing from posts so far

I believe one of Reppo's Chilean masterpieces uses articulated bogies also

TGV (and derived trains like the TGV Eurostar sets and the Korean high speed stock) has used articulated bogies between coaches since well before APT, and was probably where BREL got the idea.
In my opinion the introduction of at least one TGV set and a relevant route would be a far more significant advancement for RW than another British unit. The routes they use in France also host freight services at night, and with the steep gradients (up to 3%) used on high speed lines that could make for even more interesting driving experiences!

By far from the oldest articulated stock, and that's 1928 ( that was just easy to find ). TGV was more or less concurrently developed with APT - gas turbine TGV development train appeared about the same time - but let's not forget APT tilted, which is a much larger part of the design than just articulation. Anyone remember what those space-frame tilt development vehicles were called? APT-POP or something.
A TGV set would be pretty nice to have, I have to say - easy to scale down a bit for Eurostar if it needs UK relevance. Still I would like an APT set given it was an icon from when I was a kid.

Yer, thnks guys!! Could u keep me informed as to the progress of the APT-E if anyone is going to build one. Because I'm currently doing my GCSE's and therfore don't have much free time.
