Is anybody planning to do Tom Rolt for the tallylyn railway. If they did a reskin of it as Ivor Hugh would be nice.

Ohh No.7 would be nice!!! You will have your work cut out on the lining on that aswell Kevin, now that we have put the groovy little corners on it, to try and break up the rectangles. Which to be honest made it look a little too modern for the Talyllyn. Would also be a nice engine to rejigg the eng files for.. being somewhat more powerfull than everything else apart from No.1. Also weighs a fair bit more aswell. (although has quite poor traction)

So then all we will need is No.6 in its various (4 guises) and we will have the entire fleet!

I,ve seen the new lining on Tom Rolt and I think it look awful. I will probably stick with the original.

I think the new lining is much nicer. It really adds a bit of charcater to n otherwise bland and somewhat boring engine. the loco is made up basically of squares in some shape or form... However the lining really does help to break that up. Some people do hate it, (all of the TR purists for one) however i think it is much nicer.

No technically we need 5,8,9 and 10 plus the original No.7 'Charlies Ant' which was the little mercury tractor which got bu**ered hauling 4 back when it derailed, as they trashed the engine all the way from brynglas, and it was never designed to haul 8 tons of dead No.4! The loco could only work in forwards gear and when they got up the line they had to jack it round and run it back forwards.

We would also require the motor trolley which is an essential bit of TR equipment!

and does a suprisingly good turn of speed.

Never heard of 8, 9 or 10. What are they?
I know there was a trial engine which used ship parts, was that one?

Right I think you may be thinking of the original No.5, which used the engine out of Tom Rolts canal boat 'Cressy'.

Yeah that's it. Ihave the Talylyn Past and Present Special and saw it in there.

Yes No.5 'Rolts Folley' was a rather nice little machine.. used till Midlander arrived in 1953... along with No.6
