Re: IOW Network V4
Are those people getting this problem at Ryde St John using a clean fresh install of IOW Network, or did they just install it over IOW Network 3.0?
I did the latter and have the problem, and I am unsure whether to uninstall all the IOW Network and then install v4 or wait for the patch.

Re: IOW Network V4
I have completely removed all the IOW 3.0 files before reloading. I have checked the integrity of the Game Cache and have cleared the Blueprint cache. I loaded all the asset files but here would have overloaded them.
I am getting the problem consistantly in the Newport area
The station platform and buidlings at Newport on the line going to Freshwater are missing.
I've loaded the route with only default assets and so far am not getting the problem. Will go through all the asset providers used removing each in turn and see if I can locate which asset provider is giving the problem.

Thanks - I'll just keep looking for the reason RW crashes at Ryde then, and checking out the rest of the Island - and wait patiently.darkdj wrote:

The route is based around the 1940's era, and by then the railway company had removed the platform for Freshwater at Newport. So trains to Freshwater departed from the platform next to Newport to Cowes platform, reversed up passed the signal box and then onto Carisbrooke etc etc. So that's why there is no platform for that line.

Just to report I did a fresh reinstall of the route v5 and assets and got the exception message at Ryde.CeeGee wrote:Are those people getting this problem at Ryde St John using a clean fresh install of IOW Network, or did they just install it over IOW Network 3.0?

Could it be something to do with anyone who has the assets already installed and the package mananger not overwriting them?
If that's the, case could it be the route is trying to initialise with a new asset or texture and finding a conflict of some sort?
Just going to do a test whereas I'll unzip the .rwp and install manually overwriting the old assets to see if it makes a difference. I'll report back in a bit to let you know how I got on.
regards
Phil
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it

Re: IOW Network V4
I've done the opposite - I used 7Zip to extract the assets, and told it not to overwrite existing files. Then I removed version 3 and installed the new version of the route with the Package Manager. I've just driven the Ventnor to Ryde scenario with no problems at all. That suggests to me that there is a faulty asset in one of the archives.pjt1974 wrote:Just going to do a test whereas I'll unzip the .rwp and install manually overwriting the old assets to see if it makes a difference. Thanks to the authors. All that I have seen looks good to me, although I do have one little niggle - the route is crying out for lineside fences.

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Re: IOW Network V4
Having deleted v3 of the route I then manually extracted and copied over the assets and route as the package manager takes too long to do the same thing.
However nothing at all loads for me.

Re: IOW Network V4
I thought it might be a faulty asset, but now Ive installed the new set of assets, it means reinstalling all other old assets that may have been overwritten if they start messing up my other routes....
Good luck identifying the problem, for now ill wait for a patch and get on with some routebuilding of my own

Re: IOW Network V4
Justin, sorry about the delay in replying, been out with the grandkids, who don't enjoy playing with trains.
A senior moment in this morning's post, I meant Ventnor West to Merstone Jct. Late did Bembridge to Brading. Couldn't get everybody on because of some big regatta over near St. Helens.
Not sure if this will help with the problem around Ryde, but at least you know I am enjoying what I have got.
keith
By the way, I installed this version without any previous ones.

Hi
Its a bit late & only quickly scanned the comments
When I installed the new version yesterday I deleted the Content - Route files of v3 with RW tools but then extracted the assets with Winrar & then compared the downloaded assets with those already in the game before copying accross manually.
I noticed that already I had an icepack/ice/various folders, yet the packed assets for the new IOW version started of as ice/various folders.
is this of any relevance to the discussion

Re: IOW Network V4
Hi Ian and Justin and all.
As far as I can tell the fault is a corrupt file in the Wilburton Asset folder. I have copied this folder from a earlier backup RW and I no longer get the problem. I have no idea at the moment which asset and I may not bother finding out. It would appear that the assets which are in the No.3 IOW assets file are corrupt. They no longer appear to be available from UKTrainSim downloads.
I currently can get to Ryde and also load the FreeRoam scenario
Could someone please check if this works for them and let us know.
Thanks
Norman

The problem file appears to be: Wilburton\Stockton\railvehicles\freight\derelict_loco\default\derelict_loco.bin,clockmaker wrote:Hi Ian and Justin and all.

I used an old Wilburton folder - this file wasn't there. Deleted it in scenarios in RW Tools and can now free-roam from Ryde St Johns.
