Class 101

Great work and well done to all concerned, in my view it is more enjoyable driving this one than the Railworks one, and you have to cut the power to change gears(unlike the RW one).

I will have to try this, though currently engrossed in putting together various NSW branchline mini routes into a contiguous whole in Trainz.

How are the sounds - has the author managed to capture the distinctive AEC whine which sadly somehow eludes the RW version?

Vern I think you will like this, though obviously make sure you choose the DMBS and not the DTCL one to drive.
Yes there are a few things that could make it better but it is great.

Now that looks, sounds and seems to perform as a Class 101 should.

The relationship between the engine r.p.m. and the road speed looks pretty good in all gears, except that when coasting with the throttle shut the revs should drop back to idle, but at least there is a relationship unlike in the RailWorks version. Like the realistic very slight 'rattle' as the brakes are released as well.

The tractive physics and sounds are almost spot on. The one thing which seemed way off though is the efficiency of the brakes. I spotted Wetheral platform at the last moment (must learn the route properly) but just a reduction to 18hg put the anchors on, so to speak far greater stopping effort than the real DMU's had. Hopefully this is something the author can modify a bit. Otherwise very good model.
