Problem with blueprint

Fire up your 3D modelling tool and start building some rolling stock, or find out what others are previewing here. If you have questions about how to make the blueprints work or what names mean what in models, here's the place to find out your answers.

Hi

Can you show more of your blueprint entries. Perhaps a view of the top half and another view of the bottom half. I suspect one of your path entries is wrong.

Hi,

There are a few entries that are wrong.
The "Front Pivot point" should be y -0.5
The "Rear Pivot point" should be y-0.5
See Ian Morgans tutorial for getting a Blue print up and working.
Also
The "Collision Centre" y should have a dimension.
The "Bogey Pivot point" should be left as 0.
Take a look at "Ian Morgan" tutorial I think it is under 3DCanvas.
Get a simple wagon into RS - Ian Morgan explains in pictures http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 19&t=77375

You will get a better understanding of how the Blue print is set up.

Yes, there are quite a number of things that are wrong.

If you have not seen it already check this out -

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5&t=111402

You need to make an entry in the Collision Geometry ID which is the same as Geometry ID and you also need to enter the Developer and Product names.

If you have an animated cargo then you will need to complete a Bulk Cargo animation section by expanding the Animation Set button and you also need to enter the animation file identification in the Cargo section.

There may be other points to sort out in the bogey blueprints that we cannot see.

Hi

It looks as though you are trying to use your own coupler.

Set the coupling points as best you can in the Asset Viewer (as you has shown) and then run this utility to set the dangle and receiving points more accurately. It will also let you choose which couplings you want to use so I suggest you try some with 'default' in the path name first.

You will probably have to play around with the settings in the coupler adjustment utility to get it right.

Can I also suggest you open up a few .bin files of default wagons with RW Tools and use the settings in those as a guide for some (not all) of your own settings.

Hi,

If you are trying to set up the couplings in the asset preview, assuming you have a list of around 4 Options in the lower left box of the editor, is for the Front coupling;- set the First Option arrow to point into the vehicle and the Third Option arrow to point out of the vehicle. Both pointed ends of the arrows meeting together in the centre of the hook.
The procedure for the Rear coupling; set the Second Option arrow to point into the vehicle and the Forth Option arrow out of the vehicle both pointed ends of the arrows meeting together in the centre of the hook.
Make sure to save this before re-Exporting.
Before you do the above minimise your Blue print first and then restore the Blue print, save and Export.
Hope this is of help to you.

Using 3DC I think you need to have the word 'transparency' in the TX Alpha slot as well. If you are not using 3DC then perhaps the equivalent in the package you are using will do the trick.
