SBHH in every scenario
Hi
Since yesterday I get SBHH every time I try to edit or play any scenario. I've uninstalled all the downloads I installed from this site since the last time it worked properly yesterday morning, but it hasn't made any difference - I cannot use Railworks at all. Can anybody help please?
Jim

Hi,
I was about to post the exact same question!
Yesterday I installed a route and some assets it required (it had been fine when I used RW two days before), and now cannot load any scenario.
Peter.

Do a verify game cache then try again most of the time this sorts it.

Thanks but have done this twice and it is still the same.Do a verify game cache then try again most of the time this sorts it.
Have it backed up so will probably do a re-install later this week, when I have an evening free.

Re: SBHH in every scenario
Try runining your installation through RWTools for zero byte files. I had a similar problem recently and something I had installed was full of them! Also have you changed your settings for resolution ? I have noticed this also will cause everything to SBHH. It may be worth while taking a note what they are now so you can return to them at a later date then lowering them and trying to see if the program will run. Hope this helps M

Hi.
On occasions I have had to do a full reinstall when I start to get too many SBHH. I format the partition and reinstall from a fully functioning backup. So far I have done 2 since RailWorks became RailWorks 2.
Somtimes I can get away with just a verify.

Re: SBHH in every scenario
SBHH is the dreaded messgae you do not want to see .macclad wrote:Sorry, but what is SBHH?
It stands for Something Bad Has Happened and causes the program to fail .
I have had it myself a few times but it is mostly circled around one route and have been unable to fix this problem.
I do not agree with uninstalling as it was a payware addon and won't be happy with losing something I paid for.
When the SBHH appears it asks you if you want to save a fail dump file or something along those lines, when I click yes I get Unable to save dump file the majority of the time, anyone else see this or is it just Railworks singling me out with the failed dump file save?
G.A.R.L Scenario creations are coming!!

Re: SBHH in every scenario
You need not worry about this when uninstalling and reinstalling with the majority of payware addons. All your payware addons from Steam are installed by Steam when you reinstall. Ones from Just Trains you can download and unlock as many times as you want, Armstrong Powerhouse also give you a re-download facility.d0dg3 wrote:I do not agree with uninstalling as it was a payware addon and won't be happy with losing something I paid for.
It's only addons from other small payware vendors like IHH that use systems like fastspring that you need to be careful with as there is often no facility to re-download if you delete the original downloaded installer.

Re: SBHH in every scenario
If it's a STEAM purchase, then any DLC items that you've paid for will always be redownloaded on a reinstall!d0dg3 wrote: I do not agree with uninstalling as it was a payware addon and won't be happy with losing something I paid for.
If it's a 3rd Party Purchase (i.e DT / IHH / JustTrains / MeshTools / Etc..) save the .exe / .rwp / whatever it ships as onto a 'Backup Disc' be it a CD / DVD / USB pendrive / Ext Harddrive / "The Cloud" / etc..
Although to be frank, an uninstall is OTT for a simple 'SBHH' error. Sometimes easily solved by removing "Useless" files, reducing graphical settings due to lower computer spec and high intensity of route, giving operating system a full healthcheck & latest driver / DirectX / windows updates (critial and recommended).

Re: SBHH in every scenario
I had a problem over the last few days which manifested itself as an SBHH on certain routes (or at least on those scenarios I tested), and missing assets and/or terrain on others.
Verify Cache did not cure it, but clearing the blueprint cache did the trick!

Re: SBHH in every scenario
I'd changed the graphics from medium to high to allow a reskin to show in the game, so I've changed it back again, verified the cache and deleted the blueprints but it's still the same. I'll try another verify cache tonight, but could you tell me how to check for zero bytes in RW Tools as I've never done that before.doncaster40 wrote:Try runining your installation through RWTools for zero byte files. Re: SBHH in every scenario
Backing up files downloaded from Meshtools & DT and their ilk is a good idea. I recently lost everything because I didn't back them up, however, I did still have the original emails with d\l instructions although the links were no longer vaild.
An email was sent to both the above and they sorted me out new d\l links immediately which was greatly appreciated.
However, I won't make the mistake of not doing a hard copy again !

Re: SBHH in every scenario
Thanks for the suggestions. I will get RW Tools tonight and try it out.
I have back ups of downloaded payware content.

Re: SBHH in every scenario
run rw tools then go to edit assets then asset viewer in there is a radio button called "find zero length files" press it..It will generate all the zero byte files it finds .(The assets folder should already be highlighted) Then delete them.. This worked for me recently. Hope it works for you too.M
