From the MT website: "We will be including both the Class 158 and the SWT Class 159 in the same pack, which we are attempting to source some new sounds and cabview to be included."

Please, please let there also be a NSE version of the 159!!! I've just started to write a Waterloo - Exeter triple pack for Dorset Coast so one would be really rather handy me thinks!!!

These do indeed look amazing and many thanks for the excellent news on the NSE version of the 159. I must've missed that particular piece of confirmation first time around. I await with high anticipation

Would other features be possible with this e.g. functioning destination display board ? or the orange lights on the side of the train when the doors are open?

Not quite sure what you mean by a functioning destination display board? From the shot's I've seen the destination boards are working - if you're after a fully customisable set of destinations; depending on how the model was created it could involve hundreds of alternative .ace files to manuall copy/paste as appropriate or hundreds of additional models with the differing .ace files being referenced.

Re the lights - I guess at a push the pantograph option could be implemented to turn the lights on both sides on/off, but again I've no idea how feasible this would be - the doors opening are generally a no-no as how do we decide which side opens?

I'd have no idea on this, but I'd pop over to the shop to see what other MT stock packs are selling for and look at the expansions available for those to get a vague idea - bear in mind the amount of work in creating 30+ liveries.

As far as I am aware the model does have the capability for the doors the open, however as mentioned before this can't really be operated in MSTS due to which side the doors open. The fuctionailty has been put in place, so I guess we will have to see how Openrails works out and if this functionailty is built in. The same appplies with the destination. There are seperate .ace files and so if rolling .ace files can be supported, then changing destination could be an option.

As for now the model does come with fully functioning BIN lights, so you are able to change ends and the lights will change accordingly. All the coaches are collectly sized so you connect the units and carry on driving (something that isn't possiable with the freeware 158s as they require the 158 spacer to work).
