Allow Reversing?
I've set up a simple route to experiment with signals and scenarios. At one end is a power station with a loop of double track going in and out, like Didcot on the default Oxford to Paddington route.
The trouble I'm having is that I set up a service and when it's time to depart comes it sets off backwards! I've unticked the allow reversing box in the final destination, but it still shoots off backwards!
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.

Re: Allow Reversing?
Set up a scenario marker to force it forwards? Sorry, little help with the info available.

Re: Allow Reversing?
Just a thought but have you set the track direction as "bi- directional" or is it one-way?

Re: Allow Reversing?
Thank you both for the replies. Setting the direction of the track did the trick.

Unfortunatly it didn't!Neptune50006 wrote:Setting the direction of the track did the trick.
I've uploaded the route here http://rapidshare.com/files/435526304/M ... Around.rwp
It's called Mucking Around and is very basic and straightforward. I am trying to get AI services to run round the loops at the power station and colliery, but keep getting error messages about directionality. Would some kind person please check it out and tell me what I've done wrong?
Many thanks.
Gary.

Re: Allow Reversing?
I tested the Route
First I got a missing consist error.
Checking with RW-Tools no missing stock. This is an empty consist. After deleting the empty consist with RW-Tools the Route runs fine. I drove the Service 2 to Gary 2 and then I'm waiting at a red signal for service 2. After passing of service 2 the signal clears to green.
You get an empty Consist when you delete a loco with a driver Symbol on it. Delete locos always in two steps, first the Driver, then the loco, then you will not have problems with empty consists.
Have fun
Stefan

Re: Allow Reversing?
Hi Stefan.
Thanks for having a go
Can you see if you can set this up with an AI consist? (Delete the other two AI services if you wish)
Try setting up a service that will run around the colliery loop, out to the power station loop, around and back to the colliery. The colliery loop is bi directional and the power station loop is uni directional, (is that the right term?), you should enter on the left track and go clockwise around the power station.
Cheers for now.

Re: Allow Reversing?
Hi, I think the problem in pathing is due the the directionality of track from the crossover leading into the colliery. If you change that to bi-directional then I can get the path to loop around without it reporting a error.
From the editor I have been able to set up a path for service 2 ( after switching its initial heading ) around the power station and to the following locations in this order -
power station 1
coal loop
coal exit
gary2
St Margarets 1
power station 1
gary1
coal loading
lennon1
and with lennon1 set as the final destination
I also deleted service 3 and removed the commands for service 1 in case it matters. Don't forget that the service type must match up correctly to the line type and track directionality for a service to get a allowable path given the way you have set it up.

Re: Allow Reversing?
Hi,
Also with the way you have set the line speed for those loops ( and the length of the slow speed zone ) means that a AI train takes a long time to get around it.

Re: Allow Reversing?
Thank you for the advice John. Altering the directions on the crossing worked.
Gary.
