And that in itself is rather ridiculous... Time to convert .bin file into .xml (2 seconds), time to find line which needs changing (30 seconds), change value (2 seconds), reconvert to .bin (2 seconds). It can be corrected in less than a minute! then all RS.com need to do is send that one file to Steam for distribution.

It's not going to break a scenario, it's not going to break the route, it's not going to blow up my cat...

Just release the fix already....

Dont mind the f4 hud being there, I can see its use.. just stop the ugly brat stad thing being a default or at least have your screen map its last use and settings to memory.. Still no point whining on here; better to get as many emails sent of to them telling them to just do such an obvious and simple fix..

And can they please start using steam properly to indicate which updates have actually taken place...Have we had the 158 update?

Apparently they want to do a big WCML update at the same time hence the delay.
Kind regards James.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the extremely rapid release cycle of many Linux projects.

Agreed... To answer your question, yes, the 158 update to show the Class in the "Drive by train" has been released. Wait for it.... WooHoo Yeah, I was that excited for it.

And they even "forgot" to convert one of the scenarios ("Trial Run" for Oxford - Paddington)...

IIRC, that was practically impossible to complete successfully in the first place.

Most of the scenarios with a set timetable in early add-ons (158, IoW) have timetables that are impossible to keep... How many playthroughs in beta testing does it take to discover such things? One and a half? (That is provided you actually DO beta testing, of course...)

What? :o Sorry, but unless I'm missing something, I just don't see your point - there's nothing in this (or any of the similar posts that followed it, for that matter) that's in any way against the rules.

I'd recommend that you (a) checking the meaning of the word "spam", and (b) lighten up a little.... 8)

You will find that Derek crops up with the odd video to add light heartedness to a discussion, this is not the first and won't be the last. :D

I think ianb1234674 was saying the post was completely off-topic. To be fair, one of my posts appeared to be removed at the weekend for that reason although it may just have been caught in the crossfire. The moderator's intention wasn't too specific.

Major Announcements is a difficult topic to deal with as just about any comments made will be speculative or anticipative with very few facts to work on.

Straying off topic is not too difficult, but we can have a bit of fun with these threads without offending anyone and under the watchful eye of the moderators.

Taking my moderator's hat off, I'd have to say that a few of the posts on this thread may not have been precisely "on-topic", but hey-ho - that's the way things develop into interesting discussions as topics widen in scope over time as they grow. Personally, given the tendency for steadfast and polarised opinions, I think that any humour that can be injected into the RW forums should be welcomed as a bit of light relief and a good thing in general.

Just my own two penny-worth...
