Destination display

Post by chriswillis81 »

Is it possible to amend the destination display on a train that has the ability to show one. For example.....I installed a class 170 and its says ''sorry not in service''. Can this be amended??

Open the ace files, and look for the bit with the " not in service " and alter it to what you want. Then re-export it, and that should do it.
Remember to back up the original before you have a play, just incase it all goes whoops.

It is possible to have a selection of different destinations which you can select to best suit the activity you are running. My preferred method would be to create a 'freight animation' destination display and have a seperate .eng file for each destination, using a common ace file for all the destinations. This can only work if the loco/unit concerned doesn't already use a freight animation for something else, a driver for instance, as you can only use one per loco.
You would need a 3D modelling program to create the destination shape files, Shape File Manager to adjust the positioning, and a graphics program to create a suitable texture file with all your chosen destinations on. Sounds a bit daunting if you haven't dabbled already but can be very rewarding.
