Class 158 controls, quick question.

I am considering buying the class 158 DMU add on as I occasionaly travel on these units. For no particular reason I dislike using combined power handles such as are fitted to the Class 166. As a result I do not feel that I want to spend money on something that I would not derive a lot of enjoyment from driving and as a result not get the use from.
Could somebody with the model please advise me regarding the control system.

PS, I did carry out a search of the forums and think I found the answer but would like to be sure.

The 158 doesn't use the combined handle, it's seperate like a locomotive.
