WCML crashes while loading 86 scenarios

Hi all have emailed Railsim direct but wanted to know if anyone else is having problems like this.

I have actually only managed to play one scenario with the class 47!!

The rest of the time the game crashes during loading the scenario and tells me that something bad has happened to Railworks 2 and do I want to save a logfile which I have done.

Very frustrating as I havent managed to even play with the class 86 yet!

Any advice appreciated.

If it helps I have a Intel 6800 core 2 quad, Geforce 8800 GTX and XiFi platinum all on XP fully upto date.

Have just been trying WCML again and it would now appear that ALL scenarios crash just as they are about to start.

I can see the controls but there is no view from the cab and the game freezes.

HELP.

This can often happen when settings are too much for the PC.

Have you tried progressively reducing some of the graphic settings? Object textures to medium often helps.

Also if you have RW Tools you can check if either rolling stock or other route assets are missing which will prevent scenarios loading.

How much ram do you have? Also have you installed game booster and freeram xp pro? (all free)

I have had the same problem. I found reducing the settings had no effect whatsoever.
I cured mine by removing the Content folder for that route and vifying files through Steam which replaces it with a fresh copy.

Go to the graphics settings page, turn all the 'high - medium - low' options to 'medium', turn off shadows (all of them) and set quality to 7.

That solved it on my setup. You do lose some assets, but not too many; the scenary still looks superb (this is a great route).

Then all you've got to do is learn how to drive the 86!

Thank you for the replys chaps. Will get on it and try them all out.

I have 4 GB of ram and yes I know I need 64 bit......Thats in the pipeline.

I have also just installed a Geforce 480 GTX. Perhaps that will help with the settings!

Dont worry didnt buy it just to get round this problem
