More activities?

Been exploring Railworks for a bit now.. However where do I find more activities? There doesn't seem to be many for the class 37, which I'm most interested in. I took a look on the file library here at UKTS but didn't seem to find anything for the 37 apart from 1 or 2 which required a ton of payware I don't have and can't really afford..

Any advice, looking in the wrong place?
Why so much payware required? Is it expected people are going to have all this stuff?

One simple reason for the payware mate. People do the activities for their own enjoyment primarily and this requires the payware for realism. Don't forget, they are providing their time and effort for free.

I can understand that.. but surely there should be more activities provided as theres not a lot else to do apart from creating a route yourself which I have no interest in as I use Trainz for that as I can achieve a lot more with operations on it.. I'm more about Railworks for the experience of driving but I expected a few more activities to take advantage of all the stock provided with Railworks

It has been known in the past that people do step up to the plate when more "less payware" scenarios are wanted, however, it isnt many and isnt often. You have to appreciate, to take the time out and create a scenario, the user has their own ideas.

In reality though, it isn't that hard to get the basics of scenario creation done, why not have a go?

As Darren said, if you prefer scenarios for a given route that don't include payware you don't have, you have two choices: you either make your own scenarios (not difficult) or you just download those scenarios that use the default stock, or stock that you have.

People create scenarios for their own interest and enjoyment, and upload them so others can use them and get the best out of what's currently available. It's the author's choice what stock to include, freeware or payware, so if you don't have the stock, and don't wish to pay for it, then the answer is not to download the scenario.

Another option for you is to download existing scenarios which use payware and use RW_Tools to substitute rolling stock you do have for the payware items which have been used.

This does not always work, but in many cases it has been done successfully.

Shouldn't be hard unless I substitute a voyager for a 37 :p

No, as long as you substitute something similar, you can get a result. However, all stock has a different traction effort which affects timings, so be careful.

Scenarios are certainly the easiest type of content to make, and by doing it yourself you can use exactly the stock you have.

That's not to say it isn't without it's pitfalls. I've been having a devil of a time with Kingmoor Yard, which seems to be a bit too restricted on the track directionality or some such. Just try getting an electric-hauled train northbound from it.
